Shuffle Up and Deal

The tournament clock dictates that it's time to get down to business. Players have been trickling into the room and taking their seats. The plan tonight is to play through eight levels and return tomorrow to continue the grind.

Seven Cards -- All in Your Hand

Long before Texas hold'em exerted its dominion over the poker landscape, there was this game that all of the pros played. Each player was dealt two down cards, four up cards, and then a final down card. The game was called seven-card stud and is no longer spread in many of the poker rooms of the world.

But stud is alive and well at the 2010 World Series of Poker. Today the first of the stud events at this year's WSOP is on tap, and it's a doozy. Event #10 is the $10,000 Seven-Card Stud World Championship.

Last year this event saw an epic final table, with Eric Drache, the former WSOP Tournament Director who was responsible for introducing the first satellites to the WSOP, losing heads-up to Freddie Ellis, an East Coast stud legend. Will Drache and Ellis be back this year? Will either make a deep run? Who will become champion?

All of those questions -- and more -- will start to be answered in roughly 20 minutes. Stick around.
