Smith Slips

The board read {2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades} when we reached Gavin Smith's table. Smith had 3,375 chips out in front of him, and his opponent was pondering his decision.

After a few moments of deliberation, the player decided to move all-in for 5,500 total. It was less than a min-raise, but with just under 4,000 chips behind the decision was crucial for Smith. He eyed the pot, counted his chips and decided the pot was just too big to make the fold so painstakingly he called.

His opponent tabled {K-Spades}{J-Spades} and Smith mucked his hand with the {J-Diamonds} facing up.

The pot dropped Smith to just about 1,500 chips.
