"He's a Tricky Player!"

Samuel Trickett raised to 100,000 from middle position, and David Benefield came along with the calling chips from the big blind.

Heads up, the flop came out {6-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}, and Benefield led out into the raiser with a bet of 130,000. It was a no-go; Trickett quickly raised to 285,000, and that was enough to take it down right there.

"He's a tricky player!" someone in the crowd yelled.

Happy Gilmore

Peter Gilmore
Peter Gilmore

David Benefield opened the pot to 95,000 under the gun, and Jason DeWitt three-bet to 240,000 from the cutoff seat. Next door, Peter Gilmore promptly moved all in for a total of 890,000. That folded Benefield and sent DeWitt deep into the tank.

It had to be six or seven minutes of tank time, long enough that the entire rail stood up, sat down, and stood back up again. Even Jeff Williams stood up from his chair with that 'who's going to call the clock?' look on his face.

"Will you fold If I show? Errr, I mean will you show if I fold?" DeWitt asked clumsily. Gilmore simply shrugged as he stood behind his chair, sipping his water. He leaned down and double-checked his hole cards as if he'd forgotten what he shoved with.

Finally, after a lengthy stare at his opponent, DeWitt made the call to put Gilmore at risk.

Showdown
DeWitt: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}
Gilmore: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}

DeWitt was on the other end of this same flip when he doubled up Benefield just a short while ago, and this flip couldn't go well for him either.

The flop came a troublesome {7-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} to pull Gilmore into a big lead with two to come. The {A-Diamonds} on the turn was actually a good card for DeWitt as it gave him another four outs to catch a winning gutshot. The river {5-Diamonds} was a brick, though, and that spells a big double for Gilmore.

He's up to 1.7 million, dropping the up-and-down DeWitt back down to 1.13 million.

Paul Foltyn Eliminated in 8th Place ($79,957)

Paul Foltyn - 8th Place
Paul Foltyn - 8th Place

Jason DeWitt made it 90,000 to go preflop, and Peter Gilmore flat-called in the next seat over. Not to be outdone, Paul Foltyn moved all in for 650,000 from the hijack seat, only to see DeWitt reshove all in over the top. That sent a clear message to Gilmore, and he ducked out of the way to let DeWitt try for the knockout heads up with Foltyn. Cards up, please:

DeWitt: {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds}
Foltyn: {5-Clubs} {5-Hearts}

The board of {K-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {6-Spades} did nothing to improve Foltyn's plight, and he has run out of chips. He's out in 8th place, earning just about $80,000 for his efforts over the last three days. Not too shabby, sir.

DeWitt is back up to 1.9 million in chips.

Williams Can't Be Moved

Jeff Williams made it 100,000 to play from under the gun, and David Benefield called from the big blind to give his new chips some exercise.

Heads up, the two men check-checked a flop of {5-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {2-Clubs} to see the {3-Diamonds} come on fourth street. That cued a leading bet of 130,000 from Benefield, and Williams made the quick call.

The action repeated on the {4-Hearts} river with Williams calling another 130,000-chip bet.

He showed first, flipping up {A-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} for ace high. It was good; Benefield's cards hit the muck, and he gives Williams the chip lead with that pot.

Williams: 2.85 million
Benefield: 2.2 million

Benefield vs. DeWitt for Rollz

On the second hand back from break, David Benefield opened the pot with an early-position raise to 95,000. Jason DeWitt promptly three-bet to 240,000 a few seats over, and the table folded back to Benefield. He didn't waste too much time announcing an all in for another 1.015 million on top. DeWitt asked for the count before calling for about half of his own stack, Benefield now at risk for his tournament life. And flipping for more than 2.5 million chips:

Benefield: {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds}
DeWitt: {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}

There wasn't much to sweat on a clean board that ran {3-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {7-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Clubs}. That holds Benefield's pair, earning him the largest pot thus far and doubling him up to 2.58 million

DeWitt has gone from chip leader to the middle of the pack with 1.35 million left in his stack.
