Van den Bijgaart Prefers Paper, Not Plastik

David Plastik raised from under the gun and Joep van den Bijgaart put in a third bet from the cutoff. The blinds released and Plastik called.

The flop came {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Plastik led. Van den Bijgaart called.

The turn was the {A-Hearts} and Plastik led again. Van den Bijgaart raised this time and Plastik called.

Plastik check-called the {3-Clubs} on the river and mucked when van den Bijgaart opened {A-Spades}{K-Spades} increasing his stack to 8,000 chips. Plastik is now down to 4,000.

Kobe!

With the board reading {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, a player checked to Los Angeles Lakers Owner Jerry Buss.

Buss put out a bet and his opponent called. Buss rolled over {Q-}{J-} for queens and eights and his opponent mucked. With that pot the man who runs the Lake Show is sitting with 5,000 chips.

HawrilenKO

The board read {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} when a short-stacked woman in the small blind led out for a bet against Matt Hawrilenko. He called.

The two got three bets in when the {7-Clubs} turned, and the woman was all in:

Showdown
Hawrilenko: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Ms. Short Stack: {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The short-stacked woman needed to fill up, but couldn't when the {A-Diamonds} rivered and was eliminated.

The KO has Hawrilenko sitting with 9,700 chips.

Big Bling Special for Heimiller

Dan Heimiller bet at a {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} board from the big blind, and his under-the-gun opponent called. Heimiller bet again after the river brought the {5-Diamonds}, and his opponent raised. Dan paused for a moment before calling with {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Raggy though it was, his flush was good enough to win the pot and move him up to 12,000.

Chips for Cajelais

Erik Cajelais opened in early position and was re-raised by a player on the button. Cajelais called and then check-called when the flop fell {K-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Cajelais check-called the {3-Diamonds} on the turn as well, and then check-raised after the {8-Diamonds} rivered. His opponent called but mucked when Cajelais tabled {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a rivered flush.

The hand has Cajelais up to 12,000 chips.

Mizzi King of the Check-Raise

There was already 5,000 in the pot when the flop came out {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Sorel Mizzi checked from the small blind, and the next player to act bet. Another guy called, and Mizzi stuck in a raise. The original bettor called and the third player folded. Mizzi checked raised a second time after the {k-Spades} on the turn. His opponent paid to see the {2-Spades} on the river, then paid off one more bet. Mizzi showed {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for top set on his way up to 11,700.

Matros Takes Early Chip Lead

Matt Matros raised a {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, and both of his opponent in the big blind called. The big blind bet then checked the {4-Spades} on the turn, and stuck in a raise when Matros bet. Fine with him. Matt three bet, and the player called all in with {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Matros was looking good with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}. The all-player was drawing dead as Matros took over the chip lead with 21,700.

Fresh from winning the first Limit Hold'em tournament of the Series, Matros would love to pull a Greg Mueller or a Terrence Chan and take down two limit events this year.
