Jeffrey Mervis Eliminated in 18th Place ($7,805)

Jeffrey Mervis was all in on the turn of a board reading {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs} against Eric Buchman. Mervis held top set with the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Buchman the {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a flush draw and a gutshot. The river was the {6-Spades} and completed the straight for Buchman. Mervis thought at first he won the pot and pumped his fists in excitement, but the dealer informed him that he lost and he then pounded his fist on the table in disgust after not having seen Buchman's straight. Buchman moved to 176,000 while Mervis was eliminated in 18th place.
