Turner the cards slowly when you deal them darling...

Sorel Mizzi: (XX) / {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
James Laird: (XX) / {q-Spades}{4-Clubs} - fold
Jon Turner: (XX) / {3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}

We caught the action on fourth street, when Sorel Mizzi bet out and James Laird called. Jon Turner raised, only for Mizzi to reraise. Laird gave it up but Turner called.

Mizzi bet out again on fifth street and Turner flat-called. On sixth, with a pair of threes up, Turner bet out. Mizzi called.

Come seventh street, Turner bet out again. This time Mizzi folded, and was down to 43,000. Turner moved on up to 80,000.

Chips For Trips

In a three-way pot, Vorakboth Eam, James Laird and Sorel Mizzi went to showdown. Laird raised on third and led the betting on fourth before all three players checked fifth street. Once again Laird fired sixth before Eam fired a bet on the river. Mizzi folded but Laird made the call.

Eam: ({10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{A-Diamonds}) / {5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Mizzi: (XXX) / {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Laird: (XXX) / {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

Trip sevens for Eam was good for the pot as he moves up to 38,000. Mizzi has 60,000 with Laird at 50,000.

Talebi Jacked Up

Carlos Mortensen: {4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} / {7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{5-Spades} / {10-Clubs}
Rodeen Talebi: {10-Diamonds}{j-Spades} / {q-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts} / {j-Clubs}

Rodeen Talebi was all in on fifth street, trailing with ace high against Carlos Mortensen's pair of sevens. However, Talebi binked a pair of jacks on seventh street to keep him in the game on 21,000. Mortensen meanwhile dropped right down to 15,000.

Carlos Cut

Carlos Mortensen eliminated
Carlos Mortensen eliminated

Carlos Mortensen was recently crippled and then eliminated from today's event, much to the dismay of those in media row who have him in their WSOP fantasy teams!

Mortensen doubled up Edward Nilosek with all of Nilosek's last chips in on fifth street.

Nilosek: ({8-Spades}{A-Diamonds}) / {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} / ({4-Clubs})
Mortensen: ({2-Hearts}{J-Clubs}) / {J-}{Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} / ({K-Hearts})

Nilosek made aces up to leave Mortensen with just 2,500 chips and he was eliminated shortly after.

Bubble Taking its Time

With just five minutes left until the dinner break, it looks as though it's going to be an uncomfortable 60 minutes for the shorter stacks - we're at 47 players right now, and the money is at 40...

Flaminio Flailing

Worse than that - Flaminio Malaguti has become our first post-prandial bustee. It happened so fast we didn't even catch the hand, but whatever happened, Mr. Malaguti will not be making the money in this tournament.
