Pumpkin Pumped Up

Jameson Painter raised from the cutoff and Kyle Ray three-bet from the button. Both blinds folded and Painter called.

Painter checked the {K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop over to Ray, who bet out. Painter announced a raise, firing up at least one of his orange-clad railbirds who let out quite a gutteral call of "RAAAIIIIISE!!." Ray called and they went to the river. It was the {Q-Spades} and Ray folded to Painter's bet.

The orange railbirds let out a whoop and rattled around their plastic pumpkin as their man raked in the pot.

Parker Gets Knocked Down, Doubles Back Up

I get knocked down, but I get up again...
I get knocked down, but I get up again...

The action folded around to Brock Parker in the small blind. He raised and Matt Keikoan defended his big blind.

The flop was {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. Parker led out, Keikoan raised, Parker three-bet and Keikoan called. The board paired with the {8-Spades} on the turn and Parker fired out again. Keikoan called. The river fell the {Q-Clubs} and Parker checked. Keikoan bet and Parker called.

Keikoan turned over {8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for eights full of fours and took down the pot, leaving Parker on only 150,000 in chips.

On the next hand Parker raised from the button, Keikoan three-bet from the small blind, Parker four-bet, Keikoan set him in and Parker called.

Parker {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Keikoan {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

Parker's tens held up on the {9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board and he doubled up to 330,000.

Keikoan Wins the Battle of the Blinds

Brock Parker raised from the small blind and Matt Keikoan called from the big blind.

Parker led out on the {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, Keikoan raised and Parker called. The turn came the {7-Spades} and both players checked. Parker bet the {Q-Spades} on the river and was faced with a raise from Keikoan. Looking a bit puzzled, he made the fold and conceded the pot to Keikoan.

Parker Hungry For Chips

Brock Parker raised to open the pot, and Kyle Ray defended his big blind.

Heads up, they took a flop of {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {7-Clubs}, and Ray check-raised Parker's continuation bet.

The turn came the {5-Diamonds}, Ray bet, and Parker raised it right back. Ray smooth-called the extra bet, and the {6-Spades} saw him check-call one final bet from Parker.

Parker tabled {A-Spades} {J-Hearts}, and Ray sat still for fifteen or twenty seconds, studying the cards in front of him. Finally, he shook his head and threw his cards into the muck. That moves Parker up over the 700,000-chip mark, knocking Ray down to about that same level.

Any pot played to the river nowadays is going to represent a significant chunk of a player's stack.

After-Dinner Poker

The players are back in their chairs -- well, all except Brock Parker, and the cards are back in the air.

Here's Parker now, and he's just in time to fold. "Nine o'clock, right?" he says, looking at his imaginary wristwatch.

"Yeah, and it's 9:02," the T.D. says back.

In any event, we've got everyone now, and we're off to the bracelet.

Dinner Time!

That's the end of the level, and that's going to cue our dinner break. The players have agreed to extend their chow time to 75 minutes, so we'll be back at 9:00 p.m. to play this thing out.

Parker Has to Fold

Brock Parker raised in early position, and both Zvi Groysman and Simon Morris put in the calls, Morris coming along from his big blind.

The flop came out {5-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}, and Morris check-folded to a Parker bet, but Groysman came right along with the call.

That put them heads up to the turn {3-Clubs}, and Parker fired out another bet. Groysman stared at the ceiling for about 15 seconds before raising to two bets, and a sour look crossed Parker's face. He took about a minute of deliberation before deciding to put in the extra bet for the call.

The river came the {Q-Clubs}, and this time Parker checked and quickly folded to one last bet from Groysman.

Parker is down under 400,000 now, while Groysman moves just over that mark.
