Albert Minnullin, Pat Walsh, and Brett Richey each put in the full five bets before the flop, and Michael Reed was in there as well, all in for his last 15,500 chips.
They all went off to a flop of , and Albert Minnullin check-folded after some significant action developed behind him. Walsh bet and Richey raised to start if off, then Walsh reraised, and Richey moved all in over the top. With two big pots piled in the middle of the table, and Richey and Reed both at risk against Walsh, the cards were turned up:
Richey:
Reed:
Walsh:
Walsh was well out in front with his overpair, two cards away from a double knockout. The turn came the , a blank that changed nothing.
The river, though, was the , and that filled in the unlikely straight for Reed, giving him the best hand in the end. He wins the main pot to quadruple his way up over 60,000. Walsh takes the side pot with his queens up, and that lives Richey with no pot and with no more chips left in front of him.
With the board reading on the turn, Zvi Groysman bet out and Brent Courson called. Groysman bet in the dark before the landed on the river and Courson called.
Groysman showed pocket queens and Courson mucked.
Down to only 5,000 in chips, he committed them on the next hand, but David Chiu rivered the nut flush to eliminate him.
Hoy Corkins raised from middle position, Anh Van Nguyen three-bet from late position and Corkins called. Corkins put the last of his chips in the pot on the flop and earned a call.
Corkins
Van Nguyen
The turn was the , the river was the and Corkins hit the rail. Van Nguyen is the current chip leader with 315,000.
We picked up the action on the turn as the board showed , and there was about 100,000 in the pot already. Justin Bonomo made a bet to leave himself just one lonely T5,000 chip, and Zvi Groysman tanked and eventually raised to put Bonomo at risk.
Groysman tabled , and he was well ahead of the of Bonomo. "ZeeJustin" could not pair up on the river, and just moments after doubling up, he has been eliminated.
Greg Raymer just came over to our reporter on the rail and asked who the chip leader was. Before we could show him where Simon Morris was sitting, Raymer cut us off. "Eh, don't worry about it. I'll take David Chiu in a last-longer against anyone. Having fun, David?"
Chiu looked up from his cards and shook his head slowly adding, "It's no fun over here."
"I know," Raymer said. "The only people who are having fun right now are Jerrod (Ankenman) and Bill Chen. I only make fun of limit hold'em because I don't understand it that much." Bill Chen was at the table, and he thought that was just hilarious as he broke into a fit of childish laughter.
And just as quickly as he had appeared, Raymer headed off along the rail and out the door.
Justin Bonomo was down around 30,000 when he got himself all in on the turn of a board that showed . He was at risk and still on the draw with , live to 15 outs against David Chiu's .
The river looked good for Chiu, but it made Bonomo the winning spade flush, securing his double up and ensuring he'll stick around for a while longer. He's back to 72,000 now, sliding Chiu down to 108,000.
