Rockets for Doc

A player in the hijack opened to 8,500, and David Sands made it 17,500 to go on the button. Then the big blind called all in for a total of 16,600. It only took the original raiser a minute to decide to call, but it was a good three minutes before everyone at the table agreed the bets had been pulled in correctly. Finally it was all sorted out, and on to the flop: {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. The hijack checked, and when Sands slid out a big bet, he gave up his hand. Sands turned up {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. His opponent was in bad shape with {a-Spades}{q-Spades}. "Straighten me out," he asked hopefully. No dice, as the {9-Spades} on the turn had him drawing dead.

With his timely aces, Doc Sands is up to 108,000.
