Florestan Out-Turned, Out-Tournamented

We came to Richard Florestan with a flop of {9-Spades} {8-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} already on board. Timothy Beeman bet 27,000, with Florestan calling from the button to see the {4-Diamonds} hit the turn. Beeman then moved all in, putting Florestan to the decision for his whole stack.

"Will you show me if I fold?" Florestan asked.

"I'll show you if you call," replied Beeman.

Florestan did eventually make the call with {9-Hearts} {8-Hearts} for a flopped two pair, nines and eights. Beeman opened {4-Spades} {4-Hearts}, having turned a two-outer for a set of fours. The river {7-Clubs} ended Florestan's day.

Beeman is now near the top of the counts with 957,000.
