Troy Again

Vladimir Shchemelev raised with a {5-} showing, and Maxwell Troy raised it back with his {6-}. Shchemelev called.

Shchemelev: (X)(X)/{5-}{Q-}{A-}{A-}/(X)
Troy:(X)(X)/{6-} {K-} {4-} {10-}/(X)

Shchemelev bet his lead on fourth street, and he check-called a bet on fifth. Troy fired again on sixth and seventh, and Shchemelev called both bets to see the cards. Troy said, "Six," and he turned over {2-}{3-}{5-} for a sixty-five. Shchemelv mumbled in Russian as he flashed his {3-}{6-}{8-}, and Troy has taken the pot and the chip lead once again.

Troy - 995,000
Shchemelev - 805,000

Shchemelev's Game

The last ten minutes have belonged to Vladimir Shchemelev. He's won almost every pot in that span with relentless betting and raising, and he's winning pots without having to go past fourth street. This recent rush pushes him back into the chip lead with about 1.2 million.

And Now it's Troy

Maxwell Troy led every street in a heads-up pot against Vladimir Shchemelev, and it turned out well for him.

Troy: (X)(X)/{A-}{4-}{3-}{6-}/(X)
Shchemelev: (X)(X)/{7-}{6-}{5-}{A-}/(X)

When Shchemelev called the last bet, Troy slapped his {10-}{2-}{Q-} down on the felt, having made a sixty-four. Shchemelev couldn't beat it, and he'll relinquish the chip lead with that pot.

Troy is now occupying that position with 900,000, while Shchemelev drops back to 650,000.

Shchemelev Now in Front

Vladimir Shchemelev completed with a three up, Frank Kassela raised with a deuce, and Shchemelev called.

Shchemelev: (X)(X)/{3-}{6-}{5-}{2-}/(X)
Kassela:(X)(X)/{2-} {5-} {10-} {4-}/(X)

The leading player was doing the betting the whole way with Kassela firing on fourth street and Shchemelev doing the work on fifth and sixth. Shchemelev bet again on seventh, and Kassela made one last call.

Shchemelev showed his hand: ({A-} {9-})/{3-} {6-} {5-} {2-}/(Tx), and his sixty-five was good enough to take that sizable pot and move him into the chip lead with 1.23 million.

Wrong Game, Vladimir

Vladimir Shchemelev completed with a deuce up, and Maxwell Troy made it two bets back at him showing a six. Shchemelev called.

The Russian pulled an ace on fourth street, and he bet his lead, and Troy called after pulling a jack. Shchemelev bet again when he drew a three on fifth street, and Troy instantly mucked. Just for good measure, Shchemelev opened up his full hand, revealing ({A-}{A-})/{2-}{A-}{3-}.

Kassela Grabs the Lead

Frank Kassela completed with a ten showing, and Melville Lewis called with a deuce in the door.

Kassela: (X)(X)/{10-}{5-}{5-}{A-}/(X)
Lewis: (X)(X)/{2-}{6-}{J-}{5-}/(X)

There's not much to explain on this one. Lewis bet on fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh streets, and Kassela called him down the whole way. The river call was slower than the rest, but it was the correct call. Lewis turned over {K-}{3-}{3-} to make his jack low, and Kassela tabled {9-}{2-}{4-} for the winning ninety-five.

With that pot, Kassela has taken the overall chip lead with exactly 1 million chips, knocking Lewis down to 420,000.

Troy Triples

Melville Lewis completed and Vladimir Shchemelev called before Maxwell Troy two-bet to 60,000. Lewis called, as did Shchemelev before Lewis led on fourth only to have Shchemelev call and Troy raise.

Lewis and Shchemelev again called before fifth street was checked through. Troy moved all in for his last 42,000 on sixth with both players calling and checking seventh.

Lewis: (X)(X) / {7-}{2-}{9-}{Q-} / (X)
Shchemelev: (X)(X) / {5-}{10-}{K-}{K-} / (X)
Troy: (X)(X) / {A-}{A-}{3-}{8-} / (X)

Troy tabled his {2-}{3-}/{5-} and collected the pot to more than triple through to over 520,000.

Lewis Chips Up

Melville Lewis completed and Vladimir Shchemelev made the call before Maxwell Troy two-bet.

Lewis and Shchemelev made the call before Lewis fired out only to have Shchemelev check-raise and Troy muck. Lewis called as both players checked fifth street before Lewis fired on sixth and Shchemelev called.

Lewis: (X)(X) / {6-}{4-}{2-}{4-} / (X)
Shchemelev: (X)(X) / {2-}{A-}{5-}{K-} / (X)
Troy: (X)(X) / {2-}{J-} (folded on fourth)

Lewis tabled his {9-}{7-}/{10-} in the hole to collect the pot and move to 900,000 as Shchemelev flashed his {5-}{8-}/{9-} to concede and slip to 800,000 in chips.
