Mackey Mucks

Phil Galfond
Phil Galfond

Stud

Catching the action on fourth street, James Mackey led the betting before Phil Galfond raised it up on fifth. Mackey made the call, and then check-called sixth street before checking again on the river. Galfond fired one more time and Mackey decided to give it up.

Mackey: (X-X) / {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} / (X)
Galfond: (X-X) / {3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} / (X)

Mackey is now down to his last 15,000 as Galfond is looking strong with 100,000.

Pantling Pulling Pots

Razz

Toto Leonidas: (X-X) / {6-}{2-}{a-}{j-}
Andrew Pantling: (X-X) / {4-}{3-}{5-}{2-} / (X)
Freddy Deeb: (X-X) / {a-}{9-}{2-}{7-} / (X)

When we arrived on sixth, Pantling bet, and Deeb called. Leonidas had already invested a quarter of his stack in the pot, but he decided not to call one more bet. Pantling and Deeb both checked on the end, and Pantling showed {7-}{4-} / {4-}. Deeb couldn't beat a seven-five and mucked, while Toto lamented his decision to fold. He would have caught a four and made number two to scoop a much-needed pot. Instead, Leonidas is down to 18l, Deeb has 85k, and Pantling is all the way up to 185k.

PokerStars Pros Hachem and Wahlbeck Duel at Feature Table

Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem

Omaha-8

Team PokerStars has two players fighting it out at the feature table. Ville Wahlbeck, a member of Team Finland, raised from middle position. Matt Glantz called from the small blind, and Team Australia Pro Joe Hachem came along from the big blind. The flop fell {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{7-Spades}, and action checked to Wahlbeck. He tossed in a bet, and only Glantz called. Both checked the {9-Spades} on the turn that completed a flush draw and ended hopes of a back-door low. The river brought the {5-Hearts}, and this time Glantz bet out. Wahlbeck took another look at his cards before tossing them into the muck. Glantz is sitting on 105,000 now, while Wahlbeck slipped the last level to 63,000. Hachem has been grinding the short-stack with 33,000.

Mosseri Survives

Stud

Matt Keikoan: (X-X) / {10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} / (X)
Marco Johnson: (X-X) / {6-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} / (X)
Abe Mosseri: (X-X) / {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts} / (X)

Keikoan completed, and Johnson called. Mosseri raised, and both players called the extra bet. On fourth, Keikoan bet out, and Johnson flatted again. Mosseri stuck in a raise, putting himself all in. Keikoan three-bet, and CrazyMarco called both bets, starting a side-pot with Matt. They checked it down after that, and Mosseri showed {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Spades} for trip queens to win the main pot and stay alive with 70,000. Johnson's {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} didn't give him anything but a busted draw, and Keikoan took the small side pot with a pair of eights. Even with that small gift, Keikoan is down to 27,000. Johnson still has 150,000.

Billirakis Pounds The Prince

Omaha-8

Action folded to Steve Billirakis who raised from the cutoff with Scotty Nguyen calling on the button and Phil Galfond coming along in the big blind.

The flop landed {K-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Galfond checked to Billirakis who fired a bet. Nguyen called as did Galfond.

The turn brought a repeat {4-Spades} and again Galfond checked to Billirakis. He fired again and both opponents called.

The river was another {4-Clubs} and again Galfond checked and Billirakis bet. Nguyen called as Galfond got out of the way.

Billirakis opened {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a full house which was good as Nguyen quietly mucked. Billirakis has a big chip lead now, with around 280,000 as the empire of the Prince of Poker is starting to fall. He's down to 85,000.
