Ship it To Aleksa

No-Limit

Vivek Rajkumar raised in middle position, and Brian Aleksa reraised to 4,600 in the hijack. Vivek called.

He checked the {3-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} flop, and Aleksa continued out with a bet of 4,500. Rajkumar promptly moved all in, and his opponent called off his final 37,600 chips to put himself at risk. He was well ahead:

Rajkumar: {7-Spades} {8-Spades}
Aleksa: {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}

The turn {10-Hearts} was a blank and so was the {9-Diamonds} river, and Aleksa's aces hold. He's doubled all the way up to 84,000, essentially trading stacks with Vivek.

99 Remain

The rate of attrition has slowed somewhat over the last couple of levels. But we have finally crossed into double-digits, as just 99 remain.

Reminder: the top 54 spots pay in this one.

Hinkle Keeps His Seat

No-Limit

Just had a hand between two WSOP bracelet holders, both of whom won $1,500 no-limit hold'em events in 2008 -- Grant Hinkle and David Daneshgar.

Hinkle open-raised all in for 7,400 total, and it folded to Daneshgar in the big blind who tanked for a half-minute before making the call.

Hinkle showed {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and Daneshgar {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

The flop came {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and the turn {Q-Clubs}, and Hinkle began to stand. But the {J-Hearts} on the river sat him back down again.

Hinkle has a little over 15,000 now, while Daneshgar slips to 10,500.

Hoivold Hits a Hand

Andreas Hoivold, Andy Bloch, and James Collopy
Andreas Hoivold, Andy Bloch, and James Collopy

Limit

Andreas Hoivold raised from middle position, Andy Bloch, sitting to his left, three-bet, and the table folded back around to Hoivold who made the call.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Hoivold bet, and Bloch called. The turn was the {5-Diamonds}, and both checked. The river was the {4-Diamonds}, and both checked again.

Hoivold showed {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a rivered straight, and Bloch had to check his hand again before mucking. Hoivold is up to 58,000, and Bloch has 44,000.

The Razor Raises (Again)

John Phan
John Phan

Limit

John "The Razor" Phan opened with a raise from the cutoff -- as he so often does. Dwyte Pilgrim called from the big blind.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. Pilgrim checked, Phan bet, and Pilgrim called. The turn was the {A-Diamonds}. Same story -- check-bet-call. The river then brought the {2-Clubs}. Pilgrim again checked, Phan bet again, and Pilgrim quickly called.

"Ace," said Phan, turning over {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, and Pilgrim mucked. Pilgrim still has 34,000, while Phan is sitting with about 26,000.

Smith Boated

Limit

The flop showed {J-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} when we walked up to the table, and Gavin Smith was betting. His opponent check-raised, and Smith called to see the {3-Spades} on fourth street. Smith called a bet there, and he called another one on the {6-Clubs} river, and his opponent showed him {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades}. Smith couldn't beat the flopped full house, and he's taken a little hit back down to 56,000.

Sarwer Stacks Up

No-Limit

Darus Suharto opened to 1,525 in middle position, and the player in the hijack reraised to 4,700. In the big blind, Jeff Sarwer moved all in over the top of both players, Suharto folded, and the hijack called off his remaining 5,000 to put himself at risk.

Sarwer turned up {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds}, and he was flipping for the knockout with the hijack's {8-Spades} {8-Clubs}. There was an ace on the flop and no sign of an eight on the board of {A-Hearts} {J-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts}. Sarwer tallies the knockout, moving his stack to 32,000.
