Liebert Scoops with Nut-Nut

There were four limpers to Kathy Liebert on the last hand she played before she cashed in her remaining rebuy chips. Liebert, in the small blind, raised to 550. Three of the limpers called.

Liebert continued for 2,000 on a flop of {8-Clubs}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Action folded to the last-to-act player, who moved in for about 5,000. Liebert quickly called with a draw, {2-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Her opponent turned up two pair, {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}. The {10-Clubs} turn and the {6-Diamonds} river gave Liebert the nut-nut to scoop the pot. She then cashed in her rebuy chips to top up to 28,000.

Hit the Deck

Cheery Lithuanian-dwelling American Woody Deck has had a rather bad day so far. "I'm getting f***ed," he said when we found him with just 5,700 chips early on, and no rebuy chips remaining.

Deck has made a slight recovery to 6,300, but it's still less than half his starting stack.

Steve Jelinek has an ingenious cure for the short-stacked blues, though.

"Just pretend you're in the 1,500."

Runnered Top Two Not Enough for Hachem

Joe Hachem, sitting with the button, was the only player to call an early-position player's pre-flop raise to 400. That player and Hachem both checked a {4-Spades} {6-Spades} {7-Clubs} flop. When the turn came {a-Clubs} and the early position player checked a second time, Hachem tried a bet of 600. His opponent called.

Both players checked the {10-Clubs} river. "Top two," said Hachem.

"Me too," his opponent replied. "I also have 5-2." He opened {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Hachem tabled his own {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts} and prepared to be quartered.

Raymer Check-Raises to Victory

Greg Raymer made it 400 under the gun and Barry Greenstein reraised to 1,400 two seats down. Raymer It folded back around to Raymer who made the call, and they went heads up to a flop.

Flop: {5-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Raymer checked and Greenstein looked pretty confident betting 2,000 - but his confidence faded somewhat when Raymer check-raised what looked like pot. Greenstein folded, and Raymer took the pot.

Aces in the Holl'

Rob Hollink has been having a pretty terrible day so far.

We found him moving all in from the small blind for 1,700 and Robin Keston, who'd called a raise in late position, made the call.

Hollink: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Keston: {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Board: {8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

They chopped it up. Keston is now sitting on 22,500, a little down from his earlier high point of 30,000. Hollink now has 1,800 chips, with just one red rebuy chip behind.
