Lunkin Makes Quads

No-Limit Hold'em

Brant Hale raised to 1,050 before Vitaly Lunkin reraised to 2,900. Hale tanked for a bit and then made the call.

The first three community cards came down {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Lunkin, who was acting from the big blind, bet out 2,000. Hale tanked for some Hollywood effect and then moved all in. Lunkin quickly snapped him off.

Lunkin had flopped top set with the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and Hale held the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and the river the {Q-Clubs}, giving Lunkin quads, although all he needed was to dodge an ace. He eliminated Hale from the tournament.

"Why did this hand take so long to play? It's aces versus queens and you have like 10 big blinds," commented Greg Mueller on all the Hollywooding that was done.
