Wice Down and Up in Stud

Stud

Alexander Wice has had a roller coaster ride through our first few rounds of stud this level.

Steve Sung: (X)(X) / {4-Spades}
Stephen Su: (X)(X) / {j-Hearts}
Sigurd Eskeland: {10-}{j-}{q-} / {q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Alexander Wice: (X)(X) / {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} / (X)

Sung made the bring in with Su following it up with a completion. Eskeland three-bet and Wice called. Su decided he didn't want to be involved after all and folded.

Eskeland bet on fourth and fifth streets, getting called by Wice each time. Both players checked sixth street and the river with Wice mucking his hands after seeing Eskeland's set.

However, Wice found some redemption on the next hand.

Nikolai Yakovenko: (X)(X) / {2-Hearts}
Alexander Wice: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} / {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Steve Sung: (X)(X) / {6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Yakovenko was made to bring in with Wice completing and then calling a three-bet from Sung after Yakovenko folded.

Sung bet on fourth street, getting called by Wice. He'd bet again on fifth street and then called a raise from Wice. Wice checked the river but called a bet from Sung.

Wice showed a set of eights and Sung mucked. After the hand was done Wice was up over 900,000 while Sung slipped further away from a million
