Eddy Sabat is now resting on the rail
Eddy Sabat is now resting on the rail

Speaking to Allen Kessler he informed us of Eddy Sabat's elimination.

Facing a raise and a re-raise, Sabat made the call for roughly his last 6,000.

Sabat: {A-}{6-}
Opponent: {Q-}{Q-}

Kessler didn't impart any board details, but it can only be assumed that it bricked out and Sabat exited for his second cash for the series.

Kelly KO'd

JP Kelly
JP Kelly

Our PokerNews reporter rushed over to find JP Kelly leaving his chair.

The board was spread {Q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} with Kelly's hand already mucked as his opponent's {A-Spades}{9-Spades} was tabled with the pot being pushed.

De Wolfe Tamed

Roland De Wolfe
Roland De Wolfe

Fun-loving English rogue Roland De Wolfe has slipped to circa 60,000 in chips after paying off the big blind's {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} with {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} in the hijack.

"Let's have you drawing dead by the flop," smiled De Wolfe, but the dealer had other ideas, popping a {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} flop onto the felt. However, De Wolfe still had a Broadway straight draw, but following a {K-Spades} turn and {6-} river, the pot sailed the other way.

"There you go, buddy," said De Wolfe gracefully as he counted out the remaining chips. "Nice doing business with you. Easy game."

Latest Chip Counts Part II

New Chip Leader

It's still difficult to say for sure with being Rainman, but at first glance, it would appear that Costa Rican Ronald Chaves is your current chip leader with 175,000. A portion of that fortune will have come from his last encounter, {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} all in preflop against {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} before spiking a second bullet on the flop of a {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. He doesn't speak much English, but he certainly speaks the language of poker (I apologize for writing that).

De Wolfe Slips

Roland De Wolfe opened to 4,200 from early position and Scott Freeman made the call from the button.

The flop fell {Q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades} and De Wolfe fired out 8,000 and Freeman made the call to see the {6-Diamonds} land on the river and De Wolfe checked the action over to Freeman.

After deliberating for a few moments, Freeman fired out 15,000 to prompt a fold from De Wolfe as he slipped to 45,000, while Freeman climbed to 130,000 in chips.

Chidwick Chips Up

I joined the aftermath to see Stephen Chidwick doubling through with {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} versus {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}. I didn't see where the money went in, but there was a {7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} waiting patiently on the felt and the dealer was requesting around 34,000 from the wounded player, so I think we can assume that Chidwick now has somewhere around the 70,000 mark.

Morris Dances Out of the Tournament

Ryan Morris was down to just 1,200 when he pushed all in from the hijack, and after receiving no less than three callers, his future was looking very bleak indeed.

On the {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, the remaining players battled it out for a side pot, Diogo Borges check-raising all in from the button to the cut-off's lead of 4,000 to leave himself heads-up with Morris.

Although Morris would have expected a backdoor straight draw with {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, even that ray of hope was shunned as Borges tabled {J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for a flopped house. Two blanks later and Morris was gone.
