At Least He's Polite About it

Team PokerStars pro Humberto Brenes has been fairly quiet today, but was extremely polite when he won a pot against the player to his left. "Thank you my friend. You are my best friend at the table," a jolly Brenes exclaimed. The other players at his table seem to be getting a kick out of Brenes' comments.

Double Doulble for Liu

J.J. Liu just doubled up twice in two consecutive hands. In the first hand she went all in under the gun and was called by a player in middle position.

Liu: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The flop of {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} was no help to Liu, but she got some love on the turn {q-Diamonds} and the river {a-Hearts}.

In the very next hand, the small blind raised to 850 and Liu pushed all in for 2,850. She was called only to find out she wasn't in as good a position as she was last time around.

Liu: {a-Spades}{k-}
Opponent: {k-Clubs}{k-}

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}, giving no direct help, but some more outs to Liu. The {j-Hearts} on the turn didn't help, but river came down {a-Diamonds}, sending Liu's chip count to 5,700.

Allan Cunningham M.I.A.

Allan Cunningham's seat has been filled by a new player, leading one to assume that he has been eliminated from today's event. There is no word on whether his exit can be blamed on tilt caused by sitting too close to Humberto Brenes, who is at the next table, but seems to be behaving himself.

Here is Brazil

With the board reading {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} Thiago Nishijima in the small blind checked the action.

On the button, a player wearing a Brazil sweatshirt, probably Brazilian too, bet out 1,650.

Nishijima eventually called and saw the {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for ace high flush from the opponent.

Thiago Nishijima has about 14,000.

Esfandiari Joins the 20k Club

This pot seemed to have big potential from the start when the player under the gun raised to 425 and was called by the player to his left, Antonio Esfandiari, the cutoff and the player in the small blind.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. The small blind and the initial raiser checked. The player in early position led out with a bet of 1,275 and Esfandiari raised it up to 3,300. Everyone folded except for the player in early position who raised to 7,000. Esfandiari four-bet, putting himself all in and got a call.

Esfandiari: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {a-}{q-}

Easfandiari's set held through the {2-Clubs} on the turn and the {3-Clubs} on the river and he is now up to about 23,000.

Slow What?

Kenny Tran opened the pot under the gun with a 350 raise and received one call.

Flop: {j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Tran made a 500 bet and the opponent instantly put him all in.

Tran eventually called and tabled {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} and was in front of the {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} held by the opponent.

The turn and river don't change anything and Tran has now 6,200 chips.

In the end of the hand the opponent asks Tran, "Why do you slow roll me?"

Tran didn't answer...
