Lederer Flushed

Howard Lederer was one of our late registrations into this event, but he might've preferred to wait a little longer to take his seat after a cooler of a hand went against him to send him crashing to the rail in dramatic fashion.

Catching the action on a flop of {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Spades}, play was checked to Chris Ferguson who fired 1,500. Mikael Thuritz put in a check-raise to 7,000 before Lederer moved all in over the top for about 70,000. Ferguson folded but Thuritz snap-called.

Lederer: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}
Thuritz: {A-Spades}{4-Spades}

It was nut flush versus second nut flush as "The Professor" rose from his seat in dismay at what had just unfolded.

The turn {8-Diamonds} and river {6-Hearts} were rather meaningless and after a count down of chips, Thuritz just had him covered and Lederer made a hasty exit from the Amazon Room. Ferguson stated that he folded top two pair so he was able to escape cheaply as Thuritz jumps up to 155,000.
