Martin Climbing Back

Leonard Martin
Leonard Martin

Leonard Martin bet out after the first draw and Raphael Zimmerman raised. Martin made the call. On the second draw, Martin took one and Zimmerman stood pat. After the draw, Martin check-called a bet from Zimmerman.

On the third draw, Martin stood pat which led Zimmerman to break his hand and draw one card. Martin checked after the draw and Zimmerman checked behind. Martin spread an {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-} and all Zimmerman could say was, "You're good."

Martin climbed back to 170,000 in chips with that pot.

Painter Building Back

Jameson Painter drew two and was up against Don McNamara who also drew two. After the draw, Painter check-called a bet from McNamara.

On the second draw, both players drew one. Painter checked and McNamara fired. Painter made the call.

On the final draw, both players drew one again. Painter opted to lead out this time and McNamara folded, showing that he had made a six-high straight, which counts against you in this game. Painter moved up to 175,000 on the hand.

Painter's Crew

Jameson Painter has the largest group of fans in his corner for this event. Painter is wearing an orange shirt and all of his fans have orange shirts on as well. Most of the shirts have "WWJRPD" written on them in black marker for "What Would Jameson R Painter Do?" They also brought Mr. Painter some cupcakes with orange frosting on them for his birthday, which is today.

A few times after Painter was pushed a pot, his fans broke out into song, singing Happy Birthday to their friend who is still in the event. As one might expect, Painter turned a little red in the face while he was serenaded by his friends on the rail.

With the elimination of Tad Jurgens, the players have found themselves on the move. We're headed over to the main stage here in the Amazon Room. We're taking a little 15-minute break and we'll see you back here shortly.

Tad Jurgens Eliminated in 8th Place ($17,903)

Tad Jurgens - 8th Place
Tad Jurgens - 8th Place

Tad Jurgens lost a big pot after he folded to Raphael Zimmerman after the third draw that cost him most of his chips on the hand prior to this one. On this hand, which would be Jurgens' last, he raised all in for 15,000 from under the gun and his only customer was Raphael Zimmerman from the big blind. On the first draw, Zimmerman drew three and Jurgens drew one. On the second draw, Zimmerman drew two and Jurgens stood pat. On the final draw, Zimmerman stood pat and sent Jurgens into the tank for a few moments.

"I'm pat," he said, emphatically after tanking. Zimmerman then spread the {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} and Jurgens jumped from his chair, tossing his hand into the muck. He was eliminated in 8th place and earned just under $18,000 for his finish. Zimmerman now has 550,000 in chips.
