Gotlieb Freerolls for $200

Joe Gotlieb limped into the pot under the gun, and Jason Potter raised to 3,600 from the button. Gotlieb called, and the two men went to a heads-up flop of {9-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {5-Hearts}. After a Gotlieb check, Potter's follow-up bet of 4,200 quickly found a call.

Gotlieb checked in the dark as the dealer burned and turned the {4-Diamonds}. Potter put another 5,600 chips into the pot, and his opponent came right along with the call once again.

The {K-Hearts} filled out the board, and Gotlieb received it with an all-in shove for about 25,000. Potter was completely taken aback. "You flopped quads. You totally flopped quads!" he said across the table. It was another minute or three before Potter mustered the gumption to fold what he would later say was pocket jacks.

"Two hundred dollars to show me less than a five," Potter said as the dealer was pushing the pot. "Two hundred dollar freeroll."

Gotlieb looked absolutely shocked and he asked Potter to show him the money. As Potter reached for his roll, Gotlieb flipped up his {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}, and he looked like a kid on Christmas morning as he was handed two crisp Benjamins. He was still beaming as the floor tapped him on the shoulder to move him for a table rebalance immediately following the hand.
