Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

Tom Dwan
Tom Dwan

Tom Dwan let one of those pesky showdown things get in the way of his chip accumulation process. Sitting in the big blind, he led a three-way flop of {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for 1,425 and was called by only Lee Markholt. When the turn fell {6-Hearts}, Dwan's bet of 3,450 was enough to put Markholt all in. Markholt quickly called with trip tens, {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and was up against Dwan's pocket sevens, {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Cue a river brick to double Markholt up to 12,000 and drop Dwan to roughly the same amount.
