How to Make an Assouline of Yourself

David Assouline
David Assouline

David Assouline raised to 200,000 from the cutoff seat. Bill Melvin called from the small blind and the flop came down a monotone {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Melvin led for 300,000 and Assouline made the call.

The turn added the {6-Diamonds} and Melvin shoved in. Assouline made the call and was covered. He held the {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a flopped flush and Melvin held the {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for top pair.

The river completed the board with the {5-Spades} and Assouline doubled up. The pot was massive and put Assouline up over six million. Melvin was left with just 560,000.
