Cada Crushed and Eliminated

Huck Seed opened the pot with a raise to 1,100 from the cutoff. Joe Cada popped it to 2,850 on the button and the blinds folded. Seed immediately threw in 20,000 and Cada called all in for about 14,000.

Cada: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Seed: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}, no help to the 2009 Main Event Champion.

Huck Seed is up to about 65,000.

More Aggression from the Magician

Joe Hachem raised to 1,050 under the gun (the position that's done nearly all of the raising so far at this table), and Bertrand Grospellier called. When it reached Antonio Esfandiari in the big blind, he raised it up to 4,000. Hachem called but the squeeze got rid of ElkY. The flop fell {q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Esfandiari continued his story with a 6,700-chip bet. Hachem folded, and Antonio took it down.

Esfandiari is up to 42,000 now, most of his chips coming from the man on his left, Joe Hachem.

Hellmuth Turns the Nuts

Mike Matusow, Mike Sexton, Phil Hellmuth, Dan Harrington and Barry Greenstein all limped in and saw a {10-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{4-Spades} flop. The action was checked around. When the {J-Hearts} hit the turn, everyone checked to Matusow, who bet 1,300. Sexton folded and Hellmuth raised to 4,300. Harrington and Greenstein folded and Matusow called. The river was the {5-Hearts} and Matusow checked to Hellmuth, who bet 9,000. Matusow made the call.

"Nuts," Hellmuth said as he tabled {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for a Broadway straight. Hellmuth took it down and is up to 34,975 in chips.

Barton's Aces No Match For Ferguson

Chris Ferguson raised to 1,000 under the gun and Andrew Barton made it 3,500 to go from the cutoff. Action folded around to Ferguson and he called, leading to a {J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Spades} flop.

Ferguson checked and Barton bet 3,000. There was no hesitation from Ferguson, quickly raising to 18,000. Barton called all in for about 10,000 with {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}, but was crushed by Ferguson's {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Barton was not saved by the {3-Spades} turn card or {5-Clubs} river card and is out.

Ferguson is up to about 40,000.

Lederer Caught Making a Move

Antonio Esfandiari raised to 1,050, and when Joe Hachem reraised to 3,050, Esfandiari folded. Antonio's brother, walking by on his way to play in the 1:00 p.m. deep stack, stopped to cheer for Hachem.

Two hands later, Esfandiari again raised preflop. On the button, Howard Lederer three-bet to 3,000. This time, Antonio wasn't going to back down. He made it 8,500 to go. Lederer paused for a minute and studied Esfandiari. He motioned like he was going to put his whole stack in the middle a few times, but instead, Lederer opted to fold. He's down to 18,700.

Scotty Puts Sexton to the Test

Mike Sexton limped in, Phil Hellmuth raised to 950, Scotty Nguyen called from the big blind and Sexton called, making it a three-way pot.

The flop was {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and the action was checked around. The turn came the {3-Clubs} and the action was checked to Sexton, who bet 3,500. Hellmuth folded and Nguyen raised enough to set Sexton all-in. Sexton conceded the pot to Nguyen, who showed pocket kings.

Sexton is down to around 10,000 in chips.

Action Dan Can't Shake Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth limped in from the small blind and Dan Harrington checked his option.

Hellmuth checked the {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop over to Harrington, who bet 600. Hellmuth called. The turn came the {7-Spades} and Hellmuth checked again. Harrington bet 1,500 and Hellmuth called. The river fell the {2-Spades} and Hellmuth checked a third time. Harrington fired out 4,500 and Hellmuth looked him up.

Hellmuth showed {3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for two pair and took it down.

"Action Dan! You're making him look like a saint!" Mike Matusow shouted, getting a hearty laugh from Harrington.

Chop It Up

Antonio Esfandiari and Joe Hachem have really been going after each other. A minute ago, they both got all of their chips in the middle with ace-queen against ace-queen and split the pot.

A few hands later, Esfandiari raised to 1,000, and Hachem repopped it to 2,600. Esfandiari called and checked the {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop. Hachem bet 3,250, and Antonio called. Both players checked the {10-Clubs} turn. After the {7-Clubs} river, Antonio tried to steal the pot with a 5,300 bet. Hachem called with {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for top pair, second kicker. Esfandiari tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for the exact same hand, and the chopped the pot again.

"The turn over a better hand than I've had every single time," lamented Howard Lederer. "I keep thinking they could be playing less than that, but they always have it. It's unbelievable"

Seed In The Lead

Huck Seed raised to 1,200 on the button and Erik Seidel called from the big blind. The flop came down {5-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs} and both players checked.

Seidel bet 2,500 when the {3-Clubs} turn fell and Seed called. The {7-Diamonds} hit the river and Seidel bet 5,000. Seed took about a minute before making the call, showing {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Seidel couldn't beat it and slipped to about 65,000. Huck Seed is up to about 74,000.
