French-Canadian Quartered

Level 20 : 8,000/15,000, 0 ante

We joined a three-way pot as the dealer put out a {7-Spades} {2-Spades} {6-Clubs} flop. Brendan Taylor and George Lind checked, and Guillaume Rivet made the bet. Taylor check-raised, Lind cold-called, and Rivet called the extra bet to see the {J-Hearts} turn. Taylor led out with a bet, both opponents called, and the {Q-Spades} filled out the board. Lind folded to the Taylor bet this time, but Rivet called to see the showdown.

Taylor: {A-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {10-Spades} {K-Spades}
Rivet: {A-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}

Rivet gets quartered as he can only take half of the low pot. Taylor's flush is good for the high half, and that and the extra quarter move him up to 645,000. Rivet is doing just fine -- he's still got about 1.05 million in front of him.
