Smith and Tran Battle

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

J.C. Tran opened from middle position to 13,500. Next to act, Bryan Pimlott three bet to 37,000 before Dan Smith moved all in for 127,500 from the small blind. Within a few seconds, Chan announced he was all in and Pimlott began his tank. He counted his chips a few times and eventually folded {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} face up. When Smith showed {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and Tran flipped over {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} Pimlott was not especially happy... yet. He would have ended up coming in third at showdown.

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and Smith's Jacks full of Kings bested Tran's trip Kings. Smith is now at 290,000 while Tran slips to just 35,000. Pimlott was able to conserve his stack and will play on with 140,000.
