It's time again for the player's to go on break . . . maybe eat, use the restroom, or get a breath of fresh air. No matter what they decide, they only have 20 minutes to do it.

ODB Not Happy

David Baker
David Baker

After being raised preflop David Baker made the call against Dmitry Gromov to see a flop. Both players saw {K-Spades} {4-Spades} {8-Diamonds} fall on the felt Gromov check-called a bet from Baker.

A {9-Spades} on the turn brought the same result, with Gromov checking then calling another bet from ODB. The {7-Clubs} on the river allowed for Gromov to take control and bet out. Baker called and to his horror found his opponent holding {9-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}.

Baker stared at his {J-} {J-} for awhile before he eventually sent it on its way to the muck.

Buchanan, Big Blind Involved in Bardah’s Bustout

Ronnie Bardah
Ronnie Bardah

Shawn Buchanan raised from under the gun and Ronnie Bardah called all in for 700 in middle position. The big blind called as well to form a side pot between him and Buchanan. On the {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop, the big blind check-called Buchanan’s bet. The action was the same on the {4-Diamonds} turn and both players checked the {2-Clubs} on the river. The big blind turned over {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and both other players mucked as Bardah was eliminated.

I'll Show You Mine If You Show Me Yours

Jeff Shulman called a bet in a raised pot in order to get to see a flop. After the three cards came out {A-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {8-Hearts} Shulman decided to fire into his opponent. He was called.

On the {5-Clubs} Shulman bet again, this time to his opponent's chagrin. After contemplating it for awhile he told Shulman "I'll show you mind if you show me yours". Shulman agreed, and his opponent folded flipping up {10-} {10-}. Shulman then showed his {K-} {Q-} and scooped the pot.

Last Lady Remaining Wins a Pot

We just noticed that there was only one woman remaining in our field so we went to check in on her. Karen Manfrede checked her option from the big blind after the small blind had called. On the {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop Manfrede called her opponent's bet. The {10-Diamonds} turn was checked by both players and the small blind checked again on the {6-Spades} river. Manfrede tossed out a bet which got the small blind to fold. Although she is below average at this point, we’ll keep on an eye on Manfrede to see if she can make the money and a deep run.

Ramdin Returns

Victor Ramdin has been pulling double duty the entire day. Yesterday he won his table in the $1,500 No-Limit Shootout event to advance to Day 2. After doing so, he entered our event and also made Day 2; as such, Ramdin has been bouncing back and forth from tournament to tournament (lucky for him they're both being held here in the Amazon Room).

As it turns out, Ramdin just busted from his shootout table, where he has spent the better part of his post-dinner time, and made a lackluster return to a stack of 15,000 in this event. Obviously he has a lot of work to do.
