A Weird Situation

Over on table six, Mario Ho raised from early position and the action folded to a player in middle position who reraised. The player in the cutoff moved all in and Ho announced her intent to call, tabling {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. The only problem was that the player in middle position still had chips behind, which Ho was unable to see from where she was sitting.

The others quickly alerted her to it and she turned her cards back down. However, the middle position player protested, demanding to see her cards.

"It's okay, dealer, call the floor - I know what the ruling is," Ho said. Upon his arrival, the floorman determined that the player in the hand was allowed to see what Ho had.

"Really, are you 100% sure of that?" Ho asked.

"100%," was the abrupt reply.

"Wow, this is the weirdest thing ever," Ho muttered as the dealer spread the flop of {3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Spades}. Both Ho and the middle position player checked, then Ho bet 1,000 on the turn of the {J-Spades}. The middle position player called, then after Ho checked the river of the {9-Clubs}, he shoved all in.

"Wow - you call the turn, then move all in on the river," Ho sighed, before tossing her hand into the muck. The middle position player tabled {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} for the king-high straight, much to the disgust of the cutoff, who slammed down {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} before departing the Pavilion room.
