Martinez vs. Nassif

Gabriel Nassif raised from the cutoff only to be three-bet by Massimiliano Martinez on the button. The blinds got out of the way and Nassif made the call. It went check-bet-call on the {Q-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} flop, leading to the {9-Diamonds} on the turn. Both players checked and watched as the {4-Diamonds} was put out on the river.

This time Nassif led out and Martinez reluctantly made the call. Nassif showed {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and it was good as Martinez mucked.

Russian Comrades

Alexander Kumin and Andrey Zaichenko two Russian players not only happened to make it this far in the tournament together, but also managed to draw the same table together. Not knowing each other before the tournament both players share insight at breaks speaking in Russian together.

In this particular hand the two were facing off against one another, Zaichenko started the hand out by raising by raising under the gun. He soon received a call from Kuzmin in the big blind. A flop of {4-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{10-Spades} was spread on the felt and Kuzmin check-called a bet from Zaichenko.

The turn was a {A-Diamonds} and again Kuzmin check-called Zaichenko's bet. When we got to the river both players switched to a different gear as Kuzmin raised maxing out the betting. Zaichenko called and showed the table {A-}{Q-} for a full house. Kuzmin mucked.

Pinkussohn Takes Big Pot Off Golbuff

Jay Pinkussohn raised from the button and received a call from Samuel Golbuff in the big blind. When the flop fell {9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{A-Clubs}, it went check-bet-raise-reraise-call and the {K-Spades} hit the river. Golbuff proceeded to check-call a bet, which he did when the {4-Hearts} peeled off on the river.

Pinkussohn turned over {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for two pair and Golbuff insta-mucked.

Michael Winnett Eliminated in 16th Place ($8,786)

Michael Winnett (16th Place- $8,786)
Michael Winnett (16th Place- $8,786)

Michael Winnett raised from the hijack and Andrey Zaichenko called from the cutoff. The blinds got out of the way and it was heads-up to the {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{K-Hearts} flop. Winnett checked, Zaichenko bet, and Winnett made the call. When the dealer burned and turned the {J-Hearts}, Winnett bet his remaining chips, which Zaichenko called.

Winnett: {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Zaichenko: {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

"Heart one time," Winnett pleaded as he rose from his chair. Obviously this is an elimination post, so you know the heart didn't come. In fact, the river was the {10-Diamonds}. Winnett was eliminated from the tournament in 16th place.

Both players checked after the river came the {j-Hearts}, and Pinkussohn opened {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for trip eights. Torresola mucked, and Pinkussohn shipped the pot.

Sam Grizzle Eliminated in 17th Place ($8,786)

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Sam Grizzle - Eliminated in 17th Place
Sam Grizzle - Eliminated in 17th Place

Sam Grizzle was very short after the redraw, and got the rest of his chips in the middle preflop against Gabriel Nassif.

Showdown:
Grizzle: {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Nassif: {j-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Grizzle was ahead, but the {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} flop gave Nassif two pair and a vice grip on the hand. The {7-Clubs} on the turn gave Nassif a full house just for kicks, the {8-Spades} on the river was just a formality, and Grizzle was eliminated from the tournament.

Jesse Chinni - Eliminated in 18th Place

Jesse Chinni got his few remaining chips in the middle preflop against Scott Stanko. The hands were tabled, and looked like this:

Showdown:
Chinni: {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Stanko: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, and Stanko's diamond flush was good for the knockout. Chinni is out in 18th, and will have to settle with $8,786.
