When we reached Table 278, the board read , and Jeffrey Neeman and Alexander Kuzmin were heads up. Neeman led out, and Kuzmin called.
Both players checked after the turned, and Neeman led again after the fell on the river. Kuzmin raised, and Neeman opened thinking it was just a call. Once he realized it was a raise, he tossed in the extra bet, and Kuzmin opened for trips.
Neeman's mistake was a costly one, and now he's one of our shorter stacks.
Jesse Martin raised under the gun, which put him all in. Action folded to Jesse Chinni on the button and he made the quick call. After the blinds got out of the way, the cards were turned on their backs.
Chinni:
Martin:
It was a flip that saw Martin stay in the lead through the flop and turn. However, Chinni had a plethora of outs. The was one of them and Chinni dispatched Martin in 22nd place ($6,998).
We're down to the final four tables at the moment. With four more eliminations, the tournament staff will conduct a table redraw for the remaining 18 players. From there, the plan is to play through Level 18 and then call it a night. Whether or not we reach the final table is anyone's guess.
Sam Grizzle raised from early position, Samuel Golbuff put in three bets on the button, and Grizzle called. The flop came down , Grizzle check-called a bet, and the turn was the . Both players knuckled.
The river was the , and Grizzle led out. Golbuff called.
"Yup," Grizzle blurted, tabling for a pair of tens.
After a series of raises short-stack David Chiu was all-in against two opponents. Michele Limongi and Matt Matros both were looking to give Chiu the knock-out blow as well as add a decent amount to their stack.
A flop of graced the felt and it was Limongi who came out betting. Matros quickly made the call and it was off to the turn for more action.
A caused an explosion of chips to enter the middle after a series of bets put Limongi all-in. Cards were then turned.
David Chiu:
Michele Limongi:
Matt Matros:
Chiu was drawing dead going to the river and Limongi had one card in the deck that could save him, the last remaining jack. He had no such luck as the hit for the river and Matros added to his growing mountain.
Clayton Newman got his remaining chips in on the turn of a board reading and was up against Gabriel Nassif.
Newman:
Nassif:
Newman had pulled ahead on the turn to put Newman in a bad spot. He needed a five on the river to keep his tournament hopes alive. The dealer proceeded to slowly burn and reveal the . It was close, but no cigar. Newman was eliminated from the $2,500 Limit Hold'em/Six-Handed event in 25th place ($5,758).
David Chiu was all in preflop, while Samuel Golbuff and Stephanie Nguyen were heads up with the board reading . Golbluff check-raised Nguyen, and she called. Golbluff led out after the turned, Nguyen called, and he led again after the was dealt on the river. Nguyen opted to fold to the last bet, and Golbluff opened for a pair of tens.
"Still alive!" Chiu exclaimed, tabling for a pair of jacks.
Chiu tripled, but is still extremely short with just two big blinds.
Darren Woods raised under the gun and received a single caller in the form of James Carroll in the big blind. Carroll checked the flop, Woods bet, Carroll check-raised all in, and Woods made the call.
Woods:
Carroll:
Carroll was behind but he had plenty out chop outs as well as a flush draw. The turn left him looking for the flush or a four, but the river was neither. Carroll was eliminated from the tournament in 26th place ($5,758).
We don't know what the action was before the turn, but we assume it had to of been immense, because there was a lot of chips in the pot already. What we did see was Matt Schreiber betting into James Carroll on a board of and Carroll making the call.
The river had the same action as the turn did with Schreiber betting and Carroll calling. Schreiber turned over for two pair which was enough to win because Carroll mucked.
