Juanda and Tran Dueling Deep Into the Night

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Kenny Tran
Kenny Tran

With the blinds at 1,000/2,000, John Juanda called from the button and the flop came down {2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Juanda led out with a bet of 2,000 and Tran raised it to 7,000, which Juanda hesitantly called. The players checked down a turn and river of {A-Clubs} and {9-Spades} and when Tran showed his {2-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Juanda through his hand away.

On the very next deal, Tran raised to 4,500 from the button and Juanda called, bringing a flop of {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Spades}. Juanda fired a bet of approximately 6,000 chips and Tran mucked. Both players are currently even in chips and both are keeping their two 50k chip add-ons in reserve, which means this battle could become a war of attrition.
