Juanda and Tran End Seesaw Battle

Level 12 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Almost a full 45 minutes after the previous elimination John Juanda and Kenny Tran finished a back and forth battle. Tran was short-stacked several times but never gave up. Tran scored a key double holding {3-Spades} {4-Clubs} by rivering trips.

The last hand saw Tran raising to 18,000 on the button and Juanda went all in. Tran had 100,000 behind and put it in holding {K-Hearts} {Q-Spades}. Juanda tabled {A-Spades} {3-Hearts} and watched his lead disappear when the flop came {K-Clubs} {4-Spades} {6-Spades}. The turn fell {9-Diamonds} and the river came {A-Diamonds}, delivering the final knockout of the evening and sending Juanda to Day 2.
