West Busts Another

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

An early position player went all-in for 40,000 and Tim West called from middle position. Everyone else folded and both players saw they were off to the races.

West: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Opponent: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}, leaving West with a better two-pair and sending his opponent to the rail.

West is at an all-time high for this tournament with 160,000.

West is Best

Tim West
Tim West

We found Tim West in the middle of a hand with a {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop being bet into from a player in the big blind, West appeared hesitant and made the call.

The dealer burned and turned a {10-Diamonds} where the Big Blind checked and West bet out 9,500. It looked like the Big Blind was contemplating a call as the table waited for him to make a move. To everyone's surprise though the Big Blind came out raising making it 40,000 total. West quickly made the call and the players were off to the river.

The {3-Hearts} brought with it a check from the Big Blind and an all in from West. After spending a few moments thinking the Big Blind folded and West was shipped a nice pot.

Veldhuis Gets Value

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

A player in early position limped, Valdemar Kwaysser completed from the small and Lex Veldhuis checked his option from the big.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and both Kwaysser and Veldhuis quickly checked, prompting a 7,000 bet from the early position player. Surprisingly, both players quickly called.

Everyone checked when the {K-Spades} fell on the turn.

When the {9-Spades} completed the board, it was Kwaysser who led out for a tiny 6,000 bet. Veldhuis responded by raising to 20,000 and the original limper folded. Kwaysser reluctantly threw in a call and Veldhuis tabled {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the rivered full-house. Kwaysser mucked his cards.

Veldhuis is up to 160,000.

Somerville Stumbles

Jason Somerville
Jason Somerville

We don't know what the action was, but from what we can gather Jason Somerville and another player in middle position got all in on a {5-}{6-}{4-}, Somerville had more chips so it was his opponent who was at risk of being eliminated. Cards were turned over for a showdown and Somerville held {9-}{9-} for a pair of nines, but he was behind as his opponent had {J-}{J-} for a pair of jacks.

The turn-river came out {10-}{5-}. Somerville failed to improve and shipped over 70,000 of his stack to his opponent.
