Baumstein Continues to Take Down Pots

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Nicolas Fierrogottner made it 55,000 to go from middle position and was called by Scott Baumstein.

The flop came down {4-Hearts}{J-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Baumstein checked. Fierrogottner continued out with a bet of 75,000 and Baumstein quickly put out a check-raise to 185,000. Dan Smith Eliminated in 10th Place ($28,447)

Dan Smith - 10th Place
Dan Smith - 10th Place

Dan Smith opened the pot from middle position with a raise to 60,000 only to have Todd Terry three-bet the small blind to 160,000.

With the action on Adam Junglen in the big blind, he cut out a four-bet amounting to 380,000 as the action returned to Smith. Smith contemplated for a few moments before pushing in his last 1,052,000 as Terry quickly folded. Junglen paused momentarily before making the call.

Smith: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Junglen: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}

With Smith in the lead, the {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop looked safe until the {K-Diamonds} was dropped by the dealer. There would be no miracle queen for Smith as the river landed the {8-Clubs} to send him out the door in 10th place for a $28,447 payday as Junglen climbs to over the 3.3 million-chip mark.

Fierrogottner Tripped Up by Baumstein

Scott Baumstein opened to 58,000 only to have Nicolas Fierrogottner three-bet the cutoff to 155,000.

Baumstein made the call and then check-called 180,000 on the {Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} flop. When the turn landed the {4-Clubs}, Baumstein took the lead by pushing out a 155,000-chip bet which Fierrogottner called as the {10-Diamonds} completed the board on the river.

Baumstein announced a bet of 385,000 and pushed out an assortment of chips before Fierrogottner made the call.

Baumstein tabled his {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for nut-trips to collect the pot and move to over 2.5 million as Fierrogottner slips to under 1.3 million.

Preflop Aggression

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

We've been seeing a lot of preflop aggression over the first 70 minutes of this final table, as showcased in the following three hands:

Scott Baumstein raised to 52,000 from the hijack only to find Jeffrey Gross three-bet to 125,000 from the button. Action folded back around to Baumstein who also tossed his cards into the muck.

The next hand, Todd Terry raised to 50,000 from under the gun. Action folded all the way around to Nicolas Fierrogottner who made it 145,000 to go. Terry quickly mucked his cards and Fierrogottner scooped the pot.

The following hand, Mark Radoja made it 48,000 from early position. He was called by NIkita Lebedev in the small blind. Todd Terry decided to three-bet the action to 175,000 from the big blind and both Radoja and Lebedev threw their hands away.

The players seem to be choosing their spots to take a flop very carefully during this tournament and it will be interesting to see how play develops once we finally start to see some more flops.

Full House for Junglen

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Todd Terry opened to 50,000 from middle position and Adam Junglen made the call next to act as the flop fell {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

Terry fired out a continuation-bet of 60,000 which Junglen called as the {4-Diamonds} landed on the turn and Terry continued for 130,000. Junglen smoothed, and when the river landed the {Q-Clubs}, he was faced with a 255,000-chip bet from Terry.

Junglen made the call and tabled his {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} to best Terry's {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} as he slipped to 880,000 while Junglen moved to 2,30,000 in chips.
