Moorman Suffers Huge Bad Beat

Chris Moorman took an awful beat.
Chris Moorman took an awful beat.

Chris Moorman opened for 45,000 from under the gun and it folded around to Anthony Ruberto in the small blind. Ruberto called and Oleksii Kovalchuk raised to 125,000 from the big blind. Moorman then reraised to 250,000, Ruberto got out of the way and Kovalchuk shoved. Moorman called and the hands were tabled.

Showdown:
Moorman: {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}
Kovalchuk: {A-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}

Board: {5-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {J-Clubs}

Kovalchuk flopped the straight and Moorman's rail gasped at the sight. They called for a seven on the river but didn't get it. Moorman slid to the bottom of the leaderboard and Kovalchuk is one of the top three stacks.

Eric Hettinga
Eric Hettinga

Ionel Anton raised it to 42,000 from the cutoff and Eric Hettinga shoved all in on the button. Anton called.

Anton: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}
Hettinga: {a-}{10-}

The flop was good for Hettinga with {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} but the turn {a-Diamonds} gave Anton the straight and the {7-Clubs} on the river secured the knockout.

Anton now has 2,250,000 after the hand and is just barely our chip leader.

Anton Climbs, Khoury Falls

We came into this hand on the turn when there was already at least 300,000 in the pot.

The board read out {4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Anton bet out 231,000 from middle position. Khoury called.

The river came {5-Diamonds} and Anton only bet out 125,000 this time, but Khoury called again.

Anton flipped over {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for a turned straight and Khoury could not believe it as he painfully mucked his hand and fell to only 600,000.

Anton is up around 1,700,000 after the hand and is now second in chips

Jesse James 11th Place.

From under the gun Jesse James opened for 34,000 and Dan O'Brien raised to 81,000. Action folded back around to James who asked the dealer to cut out the 34,000 from O'Brien's raise. James took a moment and announced all in and O'Briend insta-called, tabling {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs}. James already looked defeated as he turned over {10-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}.

The board ran {4-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {7-Hearts} and James was eliminated.
