Greenstein Slipping

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Barry Greenstein was one of the early chip leaders yesterday but is losing a bit of ground.

In a hand at his table, Steve Cowley in the hijack raised preflop to 2400 with calls from Fabrizio Gonzalez on the button and Greenstein in the big blind.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{A-Spades}

Greenstein checked, Cowley bet out for 1200, Gonzalez raised to 2400 and Greenstein called. Cowley then made it 3600 and got calls from both players.

The turn was the {J-Hearts} and Greenstein checked. Cowley bet 2400, Gonzalez folded and Greenstein called.

The river was {Q-Diamonds} and both players checked. Cowley showed {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for two pair and Greenstein mucked to go down to around 40,000.

Four Day Event

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

According to the WSOP's main site, this event is now a four day tournament meaning we are not expecting to make the final table tonight and the tournament might not finish tomorrow either. The $5,000 NL is also now a four-day tournament as well while the $25,000 HU event will now be a five day event.

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

The board read {K-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Dallas Wottlin showed {5-}{5-}{4-}{3-} for a full house. Patrick Gunn flipped over his hand but quickly turned it back over and was ready to muck. That was until he noticed that Wattlin only had a high hand. The floor was called over to determine the course of action. In the end, they ruled that because Gunn had flipped over his hand, even though it was for just a second, his hand was able to be tabled. He turned over {A-}{9-}{7-}{x-} which was good for the low half of the pot. Gunn had 32,000 and Wattlin 23,000 after the hand.

It Must Be Nice To Be Allen Cunningham

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Allen Cunningham has been short stacked in this tournament for as long as this reporter can remember, but his luck may be changing.

Cary Falk just called in the small blind and Allen Cunningham checked the big blind.

The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and Falk bet out for 1200. Cunningham called.

The turn was the {A-Hearts} and Falk bet out for 2400. Cunningham put his remaining 3600 and in the pot and Falk called showing {K-}{10-}{X-}{X-} for a flopped straight and a turned broadway. Cunningham showed {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for a set.

The river was the {9-Spades} to give a very calm Cunningham rivered quads.

He is still short but alive with around 10,000

Yu Can Do It

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

It came to showdown between Chau Giang and Ben Yu on a {K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} board. Giang held {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for two pair and the nut low. Yu had {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to chop the low but rivered a two outer for trips and the high. Yu was up to 12,500 after the hand while Giang had 26,500.
