We Keep Finding People

Liebert Out

Before we even had a chance to check back in with Kathy Liebert, we discovered that she had already busted. According to her twitter, Liebert lost most of her stack when she made aces up against a set. She then busted with {A-}{K-} against {9-}{9-} which made for a very quick first level exit.

A Little Father-Son Time

Eric Baldwin
Eric Baldwin

We caught up with Eric Baldwin and asked if his father, Steve Baldwin was playing in this event with him for father's day. Sure enough he's in the field. Eric's gift to his dad this father's day? Swapping five percent with him in this event. Hopefully it turns out to be the most expensive father's day gift ever and it is not his dad paying him.

I plan on staying away from Steve, as I seem to have been his personal cooler in the Senior's Event this past week.

Who We've Spotted

With such a massive field, finding notables can be like finding a needle in a haystack. A quick stroll the pavilion room has spotted us the following players though.

Welcome to Day 1 of Event #34: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em at the 2011 World Series of Poker. Last year's event attracted 3,289 with Jeffrey Tebben taking home the bracelet and $503,389. This is the third of five $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em events in this series and is expected to determine a winner after three days of play.

So far this year numbers have been up in the majority of events here so we are expecting a massive crowd with a slew of notables. We will be playing ten one hour levels today starting at 12:00 p.m. PDT. Jason Somerville won the last $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em event that attracted 3,175 players this past week which was good for a $493,091 payday and the bracelet.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on the floor all day providing continuous live updates from 12:00 p.m. PDT, so make sure to stay tuned to PokerNews.com for all of the latest action!
