Day 2 Begins With the March to the Money

Day 2 will get underway with 291 players of the original 1,734 entrants hoping to make the money. The money bubble, set at 171 players, should be reached at some point around the second or third level. Marvin Rettenmaier returns as the chipleader with 174,100, followed closely by Dan O'Brien and Sudhakara Kattamuri.

Also returning for Day 2 are Dwyte Pilgrim, Gavin Smith, Martins Adeniya, Randy Dorfman. Lars Bonding, Eddy Sabat, Steven Watts, Bryn Kenney, Eric Baldwin, David Pham, Tomer Berda, Tim Phan, Darryl Fish, J.C. Tran, Tom Marchese, Jimmy Tran, Terrence Chan, Randal Flowers, Leo Wolpert, Jon Van Fleet, David Diaz and Tommy Vedes.

Vedes had the highlight hand on Day 1. He shoved on the button, not expecting a call, with only one card -- the {Q-Clubs}. His opponent in the big blind called with {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} and Vedes asked the dealer for his second card. The dealer peeled off the {A-Clubs} and he paired his queen on the turn, earning a much needed double up.

Ten levels of action are slated for today. The ultimate goal is reach a final table but the numbers on large NL Hold'em events have averaged a Day 3 start between three and four tables.
