ElkY Exits

Stud

With all the money going in on fourth street, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier has just been sent to the rail by fellow countryman Max Pescatori as both player's boards ran out as follows.

Grospellier: {J-Clubs}{4-Clubs} / {7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} / {Q-Hearts}
Pescatori: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} / {9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} / {4-Spades}

As Grospellier became our second player to hit the rail, Pescatori moves to 22,000 in chips.

Shak Trips Up Mizzi

Hold'em

Sorel Mizzi opened with a raise to 1,000 from under the gun and was called by two players; one of which was Dan Shak from the big blind as the flop landed {8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Both Shak and Mizzi check-called bets as the {Q-Diamonds} landed on the turn and all three players tapped the table.

When the river landed the {3-Clubs}, Shak bet out 1,000 and only Mizzi called only to muck at the sight of Shak's {5-Spades}{3-Spades} as he moved to 22,000 while Shak slipped to 30,000.

Bellande Busts First

We were unfortunately unable to catch the hand, but Jean-Robert Bellande has become the first player eliminated from today's tournament.

Although mostly known for his cash game prowess, Bellande has amassed over $1.1 million in lifetime earnings that include fourteen WSOP cashes, but alas, there will not be a fifteenth here!

Pescatori Bests Harman

Razz

Jen Harman: (X)(X) / {4-}{2-}{5-}{9-} / (X)
Max Pescatori: (X)(X) / {2-}{3-}{3-}{4-} / (X)

PIcking up the action on fifth street, Jen Harman bet and Max Pescatori called. On sixth street, Harman checked, Pescatori bet and Harman called. On seventh street, the same action as on sixth street occurred.

Harman mucked her hand after seeing Pescatori turn over {A-}{6-}{9-} from his down cards and a six-four low.

Alaei Forces Le Fold on River

Level 5

Hold'em

Daniel Alaei opened to 1,000 from under the gun only to have Tuan Le three-bet to 1,500 from the button. Alaei made the call before check-calling 500 on the {3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{J-Clubs} flop.

Alaei checked the {6-Clubs} on the turn before Le tossed in a single 1,000-denomination chip. Alaei responded with a check-raise to 2,000, and although Le called, he quickly mucked when Alaei tossed in another 1,000-chip bet when the river landed the {5-Hearts}.

River Rat Boeken

Level 5

Hold'em

James Bord opened to 1,000 from the cutoff and Noah Boeken defended his big blind to see a {Q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop fall. Boeken check-called a 500-chip bet as the {9-Hearts} rolled off on the turn and Bord continued for 1,000. Boeken made the call, and when the {3-Clubs} landed on the river he again tapped the table.

Bord fired his third bullet of 1,000, but this time Boeken would play the check-raise card and make it 2,000. Bord called tabling his {Q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, but it would be Boeken's {4-Spades}{3-Spades} that would see him collect the pot.
