Eslami Out, Baker Celebrating

Level 10

Yesterday Ali Eslami was down to 2,000 chips. David "ODB" Baker offered him 12:1 on a last longer, and Eslami took the deal. Much to Baker's chagrin, Eslami doubled and doubled and survived all the way to Day 2. His short-stack grind has finally come to an end, however, and Baker can breathe again.

"Finally my sweat is over!" he told another table. "He just hung around and hung around and hung around."

Mortensen and Shetty Split It Up

Level 9

Omaha-8

The flop was {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Jason Young checked. Jeet Shetty bet and then Carlos Mortensen made the call. Action went back to Young and he folded.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and both players checked to see the {7-Clubs} land on the river, completing the board. Shetty checked, Mortensen bet and Shetty called.

Mortensen showed the {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Shetty showed the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Shetty won the high half of the pot and Mortensen won the low half.

Young Betting All the Way with Top Pair

Hold'em

On the {J-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, Amnon Filippi and Roger Hairabedian checked to Jason Young. He bet and both of his opponents called to see the {10-Spades} added to the board on the turn. Filippi and Hairabedian checked again. Young bet and they both called.

The {4-Diamonds} landed on the river and Filippi and Hairabedian checked. Young took a moment, but then fired another bet. Filippi folded and then Hairabedian followed right behind him. Young showed the {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and scooped the pot
