Lindgren Leaves Us

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante
Erick Lindgren
Erick Lindgren

Erick Lindgren has joined the group of more than 200 runners who have thus far hit the rail.

In his final hand, a player in the hijack opened for 600, then Lindgren shoved all in from the button for 6,000. It folded to the big blind who called Lindgren's shove, and the original raiser got out.

Lindgren tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and his opponent {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, giving Lindgren a set and hopes for a saving double-up. But the turn was the {J-Diamonds}, filling his opponent's gutshot to Broadway. The river was the {5-Spades}, and Lindgren had been eliminated.

Dunst Gets Some Chips

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

Tony Dunst raised to 700 from the cutoff and the player on the button and the player in the big blind called. The flop ran out {7-Spades}{j-Spades}{k-Clubs}. The player in the big blind checked, Dunst bet 1,400, the player on the button folded, and the player in the big blind called.

The {a-Diamonds} hit on the turn and the player in the big blind checked. Dunst bet 3,500 and his opponent folded.

Chips for Channing

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Neil Channing opened with a raise from the cutoff, and the player sitting on the button reraised to 925. The blinds got out, Channing quickly called, and the flop came {2-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Channing checked, the button bet 775, and Channing again called without hesitation.

The turn was the {5-Clubs}, and Channing tapped the table to check. This time his opponent bet 1,125. Channing didn't act right away this time, spending a bit of time first arranging his chips, including placing a 500 chip on each corner of his downturned cards. He then set out 2,725 to check-raise and his opponent tanked.

"What's that?" asked David Pham from across the table, pointing at the arrangement of chips on Channing's cards. "What? That's my card marker," said Channing in response. "For luck."

Finally Channing's opponent folded and he dragged the pot. Pham tossed two yellow 1,000 chips across the felt to Channing, asking for some change in return. Pretending he hadn't heard the request, Channing looked up blankly. "Is this for me?" he said with a grin. "For luck?" He then delivered the asked-for change.

Whether by luck, skill, or a combination of the two, Channing has built up to 28,000 at present.

Battle of the Blinds

Jake Cody
Jake Cody

Jake Cody raised to 550 from the small blind and Jon Aguiar called from the big blind. The flop came {k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Cody bet 650 and Aguiar called.

The {8-Spades} fell on the turn and Cody checked. Aguiar bet 1,700 and Cody made the call. The river brought the {8-Diamonds} and both players checked it down.

Cody flipped up {k-Spades}{7-Spades} and Aguiar folded his cards into the muck.

Dwan Dusting Quickly

Tom "durrrr" Dwan is currently 3/14 in Event #37: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship, which is currently on break, giving Dwan time to try and build a stack here in Event #40.

He was heads up with Tim West moments ago, and the board read {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Dwan led for 3,400, and West tank-called.

"You got it," Dwan sighed.

West opened up {a-Spades}{10-Spades}, which was good, and raked in the pot.

Pham Folds

With the board reading {10-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} and about 7,000 in the pot, David Pham's opponent moved all in for 7,425. Pham counted out the exact amount of chips to make the call but couldn't quite pull the trigger. He tanked for about two minutes, thinking it over before finally mucking his cards.

"Show me a bluff" Pham said to his opponent as the chips were being pushed.

His opponent flipped over the {4-Clubs} and Pham let out a sigh while his opponent happily stacked his new found chips.

Mercier Makin' It Happen

On a flop of {9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{A-Clubs}, Jason Mercier checked to his opponent who fired out a bet of 1,500. Mercier made the call and the two players saw the {K-Hearts} fall on the turn. Mercier checked again and his opponent bet 3,100 this time. Mercier flat called once more.

The river brought {6-Spades} and Mercier checked for a third time. His opponent also checked, but sent his cards into the muck when Mercier turned up {k-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for two pair.
