Kabrhel Takes a Few from Shorr

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

We picked up this one on the turn with the board showing {4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}{A-Hearts}. Shannon Shorr pushed out a bet of 3,800, and Martin Kabrhel called behind. The river brought the {9-Diamonds}. This time Shorr checked, and Kabrhel bet 7,575. Shorr called the bet, and when Kabrhel turned over {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for aces and nines, Shorr mucked.

Shorr is down to 13,000 now, while Kabrhel is up to 50,000.

Greenstein Eliminated

Barry Greenstein raised under the gun and received a call from the player in the big blind, who proceeded to check-call bets of 2,300 and 5,000 on the {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop and {A-Spades} turn. When the {5-Diamonds} hit the river, the big blind led out for 15,000 and Greenstein called off for around 9,000.

The big blind showed {J-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for rivered chips, which was enough to send Greenstein to the rail.

Big Slick for Seed

With 3,000 in the pot and a board reading {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, the player in the big blind bet 1,550 only to have Huck Seed raise to 6,400. The big blind called and both players proceeded to check the {A-Hearts} river.

The big blind showed {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for missed straight and flush draws, which was no good against the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}.

What a Thrill for Will

With 30,000 in the pot and a board reading {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}, Will "The Thrill" Failla moved all in for 12,375 and was called by Jesse Cohen.

Cohen: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Failla: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The {10-Clubs} on the river changed nothing and Failla Doubled on the hand.

Queens Fail Katchalov

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Eugene Katchalov
Eugene Katchalov

Preflop action resulted in two players -- Lee Markholt (small blind) and Eugene Katchalov (button) -- seeing a flop come {8-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Markholt checked, Katchalov bet 4,200, and Markholt called. The turn was the {10-Spades}, and Markholt checked once more. This time Katchalov shoved all in for about 17,000, and Markholt quickly called.

Katchalov showed {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for a set of queens, but that turned card had burned him as Markholt tabled {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for a straight. The river was the {4-Diamonds}, and Katchalov is out. Meanwhile, Markholt has about 90,000 now.

Terrence Chan vs. an Old Man

Terrence Chan three bet 6,000 preflop against an older gentleman who ended up four-betting all in for 62,100. Chan was clearly perplexed about the large bet, stood, and took off his jacket. As he was doing so, the old man began texting on his cellular telephone; however, the dealer quickly informed him that he was not allowed to do such a thing.

"I'm sorry," said the old man. "Thanks for telling me." About this time, Chan decided to fold and showed {Q-}{Q-}. Not one to resist, the old man showed his hand as well . . . {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

Bounced by Busquet

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

As the dealer delivered players their hole cards, the {A-Clubs} was exposed along the way. All then folded around to Olivier Busquet who limped in from the small blind. Then his short-stacked opponent beside him jammed for his last 5,000, and Busquet snap-called.

Busquet turned over {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Meanwhile, his opponent held {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and was wishing that ace hadn't been exposed. The community cards came {Q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}, and another player has hit the rail.

Busquet now has about 37,500.
