Once More Into the Hall

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Players are now on their final 20-minute break of the day. We will either play down to a winner or two more levels before play ceases for the evening.

Timoshenko Takes One From Polychronopoulos

Action folded to Athanasios Polychronopoulos in the small blind who called. Yevgeniy Timoshenko was in the big blind and decided to check his option. The flop came {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Polychronopoulos check-called a bet of 80,000 from Timoshenko. The turn brought the {k-Diamonds} and Polychronopoulos again check-called a bet from Timoshenko, this time for 210,000. When the {j-Hearts} hit on the river Polychronopoulos checked once more and Timoshenko bet 450,000.

In what we have now dubbed the "level of long hands," Polychronopoulos went into the tank for a good five minutes, counting out the chips to make the call over and over again before eventually folding his hand.

With this much money and a gold bracelet at stake, it's no wonder that these players are taking their time in making decisions.

Epically Long Family Pot

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Simon Charette opened for 130,000, Peter Ippolito called from the button, Athanasios Polychronopoulos called from the small blind and Yevgeniy Timoshenko called from the big blind. All four players watched the flop roll out {4-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs} and all four players checked.

The turn brought the {Q-Hearts}, Polychronopoulos checked and Timoshenko took some time to measure out a 260,000 bet. Charette called quickly behind, Ippolito folded and Polychronopoulos took almost a minute to fold.

The river came {4-Spades} and action was on Timoshenko. He took several moments to cut out 420,000 and Charette sat back in his chair for some thought. After a while he leaned forward and raised to 1.1 million.

Timoshenko went deep into the tank. And by deep we mean at least eight full minutes. At one point it looked as if Timoshenko was going to raise by the way he was counting and adjusting his stack. Eventually he rechecked his hole cards, sat for another minute and then folded his hand.

What started out as family pot turned into a ten minute showdown between Timoshenko and Charette. In total the hand took between 12 and 15 minutes.

Big Hand Brewing

Action folded to Yevgeniy Timoshenko in the cutoff who raised to 120,000. Simon Charette then moved all in on the button and Sebastian Winkler did likewise from the small blind. Timoshenko got out of the way and the other two were all in with very similarly sized stacks.

Charette: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Winkler: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The flop brought good news for Charette when it came {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Winkler was going to need help to catch back up. The turn and river were the {6-Clubs} and {4-Hearts} which were of no help and Charette won the hand.

The stacks were so close in size that both had to be counted down to figure out which was the larger of the two. After all the chips were counted Charette had Winkler covered by a mere 30,000 chips and Winkler was eliminated in fifth place.
