Hellmuth Won't Be Drawing to a 12th Bracelet

Shawn Sheikhan raised from early position and Phil Hellmuth three-bet the rest of his chips. The player in the big blind called and Sheikhan called as well. Hellmuth took three on the first draw while the big blind and Sheikhan drew two. The big blind check-called a bet from Sheikhan.

Hellmuth and the big blind took two on the second draw and Sheikhan stood pat. The big blind once again check-called a bet from Sheikhan. On the third draw Hellmuth and the big blind drew one and Sheikhan stood pat once more. One last time the big blind check-called Sheikhan's bet.

Sheikhan triumphantly flipped up {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-} but, unfortunately for him, the player in the big blind held the best eighty-seven, spreading {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-} across the table.

"Dah!" yelled Sheikhan. "What the f*** is going on at this table!?"

Sheikhan lost the pot, but so did Phil Hellmuth, who quietly mucked his cards, wished everyone good luck, and sauntered away from the tournament area.

Phan Takes One

David Bach raised from under the gun and was called by Terry Phan and both the small blind and big blind. Bach drew one, Phan and the small blind took two, and the big blind opted for four. Both of the blinds checked and Bach made a bet. He was called by all three of his opponents.

During the second draw every player took one except for the big blind who once again drew four. It checked around to Bach who continued with a bet only to be raised by Phan. The small blind folded while the big blind and Bach called.

Bach and the big blind took one on the third draw while Phan stood pat. Action checked around and Phan tabled {9-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-} for a winning hand.
