After Kerry Shakura was eliminated minutes into level 13, we found our bubble boy in Deon Bowes, and he was eliminated in brutal fashion. The last of Bowes's chips were in the middle on fourth street, where he had a pair of aces against Alex Wice's four club draw. Wice picked up a pair of jacks on fifth street, then made two pair on sixth street. However, Bowes also picked up two pair with his aces and twos, and needed to dodge Wice's full house and flush draw outs on the river. Bowes failed to improve on the river, and Wice drew the to made a full boat on seventh street and knocked out Bowes on the bubble. For the remaining 40 players, they are now at least $2,612 richer.
David Tighe - /
Alex Wice - /
David Tighe has been eliminated from the tournament by Alex Wice. We caught the action on fifth street when the two got all in, and Tighe failed to make a better full house or quads and was eliminated in 39th place.
Deeb: (x)(x) / / (x)
Bloch: ( / (x)
Shaun Deeb completed after the bring in, and then called when Andy Bloch raised him. Deeb check raised when he caught the eight on the turn, and then bet out the rest of the way, with Andy Bloch calling him down on every street. Deeb flipped up for trip eights, and Bloch mucked his hand. Deeb has jumped over the 100k mark with 106,000 in chips, while Bloch falls down to 69,000.
Frank Guida is the most recent victim here in Event #5. He was eliminated by Anthony Mosholder when Mosholder won a massive pot with a flush.
Eric Buchman - / / (x)
Scott Seiver - / / (x)
Erich Buchman completed with the showing, Seiver called with the showing, and Buchman led out on consecutive streets. Seiver called both times. On sixth, Seiver got his last bet in, Buchman called, and Seiver bricked on seventh.
Seiver hit the rail, while Buchman is all the way up to 85,000 chips.
Katchalov: (x)(x) / / (x)
Deeb: (x)(x): / (x)
We caught the action in this hand between Eugene Katchalov and Shaun Deeb on fifth street. Deeb bet, and Katchalov raised. Deeb called, and then check-called on sixth and seventh street. Katchalov flipped up for a king high straight, and Deeb mucked.
After the hand, Eric Buchman needled Deeb a bit, saying that Katchalov seems to have his number. Deeb chuckled and responded with, "He just got there earlier then he usually does in that hand." Deeb drops to 76,000, while Katchalov is up to 88,000.
Ronald Maze has been eliminated by Dennis Parker. The two got it in on fifth street with the boards looking like this:
Maze: /
Parker: /
Maze needed a jack to make a straight or running cards to make a better three-of-a-kind, but failed to improve when he was dealt the on sixth, and the on seventh. Parker received the , and the - two of Maze's outs - to ship the pot and score the knockout.
Christopher George - (x) (x) / / (x)
Kai Landry - (x) (x) / / (x)
George brought in, Landry completed, and the action folded back to George who made the call. Landry led out on fourth and fifth, and George called both bets. Landry slowed down, check-calling bets on both sixth and seventh, but mucked when George opened up for two pair; tens and threes.
George jumped to 34,000 chips, while Landry slipped to just 12,500.
