Meyers Gets Paid

Level 22

Brandon Meyers opened with a raise and Jonathan Lane three bet from the button. Action folded around and Meyers called. The flop came {10-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {5-Spades} and Meyers check-called a bet from Lane. The turn came {6-Spades} and Meyers check-raised Lane and got a call. The river fell {5-Clubs}, Myers bet and Lane tanked. After a few moments Lane called and Meyers tabled {10-Hearts} {10-Spades} for a full house. Lane mucked his hand and moved on to the next hand.

Big River for Smith

Level 22

Matt Matros check-raised Brian Smith on a {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop, and Brian Smith chose to call. Smith called a big bet on the {5-Diamonds} turn. The river was the {9-Diamonds}, and Matros bet again. He knew it was bad news when Smith raised, but he called the last bet to see that Smith had rivered a set with {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Ouch.

With that blow, Matros is down to the vicinity of 300,000. smith is up to 900,000.

Two in a Row for Hawrilenko

Level 22

One hand after winning a pot from Brandon Meyers, Matt Hawrilenko raised his small blind, and Brian Smith defended his big. Hawrilenko bet the {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, and Meyers called. It went bet-call again on the {6-Diamonds} turn. Both players checked the {q-Diamonds} river, and Hawrilenko's {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} took the pot with third pair. The limit hold'em expert has used this round to pull himself back to 725,000.

Hawrilenko Caught Too

Level 22

Back to limit hold'em. Matt Hawrilenko raised on the button, and Brandon Meyers called in the big blind. Meyers check-called all three streets of a {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{a-Clubs}{6-Hearts} board. Meyers took the pot with an ace when Hawrilenko could only show jack-high.

A few hands later, Hawrilenko got most of this chips back. Meyers raised, and Hawrilenko three bet from the big blind. Meyers called. It was Hawrilenko's turn to check-call on the {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop and again on the {8-Hearts} turn. He checked one more time after the {2-Clubs} river put a four-flush out there. Meyers checked behind. Neither had a club, and Hawrilenko's {a-Spades}{7-Spades} won the pot.

Matros Caught

Level 22

Brandon Meyers raised, and in the small blind, Matt Matros three-bet to 105,000. It didn't take very long for Meyers to move his monster stack all in, and it took even less time for Matros to fold.

Hoss Rebuilding

Level 22

Matt Hawrilenko raised to 36,000 under the gun, and Brandon Meyers, who doesn't like to sit out of many pots, called on the button. Hawrilenko fired 45,000 at the {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Spades} flop, and Meyers called. The {9-Hearts} on the turn didn't slow down Hawrilenko, who slid out a pink stack worth 100,000. Meyers thought a bit before grumpily flashing the {k-Diamonds} and tossing his cards in the direction of the dealer.
