Phil Hellmuth and the player on the button were heads-up to the flop of when our field reporter stopped by; Hellmuth checked to the button player who opened the betting, then he called Hellmuth's check-raise before leading out on both the turn of the and the river .
The button called him all the way, but Hellmuth was quick to point out that he had taken down the pot.
"Nuts," he said as he tabled for Broadway. Yep, that'd do it.
Our field reporter came across Justin Smith and John Juanda on a four-way flop with the board reading ; Smith checked his option from the small blind, as did the big blind before the play under the gun bet 1,075. Juanda and Smith called, but the big blind folded, making it three-handed to the turn of the .
Smith and the UTG player checked to Juanda, who opened for 2,075 and Smith was the only caller, so it was heads-up to the river of the , but Juanda mucked after Smith open-shoved.
Nick Binger has been having a hard time at the tables and as a result is down to less than 7,000 in chips.
The action folded around to Binger who raised to 525 from the cutoff; the player in the big blind then re-raised to 1,225 and Binger called before both players checked the flop of . However, Binger quickly folded after the big blind bet 925 on the turn of the .
Though Binger may be down, he's certainly not out - the same can't be said for Gavin Smith though. He's busto.
We caught up to see a short stack move all in and Jean-Robert Bellande move all in over the top. Everyone else at the table folded their cards and the hands were exposed:
Bellande:
Opponent:
The board gave Bellande hope to win the pot when it brought two hearts, falling , but unfortunately for him the turn and river were unwilling to oblige. They fell and Bellande lost the pot, knocking him down to around 1,800.
All the money was in the middle pre-flop and we got there just in time to see Allen "The Chainsaw" Kessler call an opponent's with his and ended up hitting trip jacks to send him to the rail.
In one of the earliest pots we've seen since the slow start from the break, the action folded around to Tom Dwan who limped in from the small blind; the big blind player checked, but then it was an uneventful check all the way down the board of before Dwan rolled up for a pair. His opponent mucked his hand and Dwan scooped the pot.
Action opened when a player from under the gun raised preflop. Joseph Cheong three-bet from middle position and Juse Ainsworth made it 1,600 from the small blind. The big blind called along with the player under the gun, Cheong, and Ainsworth.
The flop came and Ainsworth bet out and was called by all three other players. The turn brought the and Ainsworth moved all in for 75 more and was called by all three players once again. The rivered and the big blind checked to the player under the gun who fire out one more bet. Cheong folded and the big blind folded.
The player under the gun showed for a flush and Ainsworth tabled for merely a pair of aces. Ainsworth was sent to the rail while his opponent scooped a nice sized pot.
