Harwood Gets Some Chips

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We came to Elissa Harwood's table to see that her and two other players were in a hand on the turn with the board reading {3-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. The small blind bet 400, and Harwood called, along with the other player as well. The river came the {a-Spades}, and the small blind checked as did Harwood. Their opponent bet out 400, and both players called. The better showed {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, which beat the small blind, but not Harwood, who had {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. She scooped the pot, and boosted her stack to 4,700.

Da-svi-da-niya, Nadya

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We're not sure how it happened, but Nadya Magnus has been eliminated from the tournament. Many may recognize Magnus as the woman who appeared on The Big Game as a "Loose Cannon." Unfortunately for her, she won't be adding the 2011 Ladies Championship to her résumé.

Pork Has Been Roasted

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Another big cheer went up through the Pavillion Room and this time, it was Douglas Pork who was making his way to the exits, but not without a big smile and a bow.

As Pork recalled to us, he called from the big blind with {K-}{Q-} (suited) after a middle position raise from French player Alexandra Petitjean. The flop came down {Q-}{10-}{6-} and Pork check-shoved, but Petitjean snapped him off with {K-}{K-}.

The turn and the river bricked out and with Pork now out of the picture, Petitjean is now up to 9,800 in chips. She'll be one to watch out for, as she's already racked up more than $50,000 in tournament earnings, including a runner-up finish at the Partouche Poker Tour Deep Stack event in Lyon, good for almost €33,000.

It should also be noted that the unofficial count of male players in this event was 12. As it stands, about half of those players remain.

Violette Vanishes

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

When we did our last run of counts, we saw that Cyndy Violette was down to just 1,300. Well we just went over to her table, and her seat is now empty. She has been eliminated from this event.

Balding Picks One Up

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

The action folded around to Gloria Balding who raised to 300 before the flop; her opponent in the hijack position called and the others got out of the way before the dealer spread the flop of {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

Both players checked, then Balding led out for 650 on the turn of the {5-Clubs}. Her opponent wanted no part of it and Balding picked up the pot to move her stack up to more than 3,000.

Weisner Whamboozled

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante
Melanie Weisner
Melanie Weisner

We caught up with the action on a {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop, where a player in early position led out for 400. Melanie Weisner pushed all-in for her last 1,275 and action folded back around to the original raiser, who called.

Weisner: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Opponent: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Weisner would need to hit one of the two remaining aces in the deck, however, the {7-Diamonds} turn and {2-Spades} bricked and she was sent to the rail.

Arnett's Day Comes to an End

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante
Kristy Arnett
Kristy Arnett

With about 1,900 in the pot and a board reading {3-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, PokerNews hostess Kristy Arnett checked from the small blind and her opponent in the cutoff bet 800. Arnett thought for about a minute before tossing in a call, only to muck when the cutoff revealed {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

That loss left Arnett with just a single yellow T1,000 chip, which disappeared a short time later. Unfortunately, Arnett has been eliminated from the Ladies Championship. If you were hoping for more Kristy Arnett, be sure to check out "Hello Ladies!" feature filmed as the start of the event.
