Dunkin' Lunkin

Vitaly Lunkin had seemingly three-bet to 20,000 from the big blind against the UTG raise, only for the latter to four-bet to 64,000. Lunkin moved all in with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and immediately was snap-called by {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} which held on a {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} board.

Alekhin Takes Huge Chip Lead From Jacques

Vincent Jacques - Caught.
Vincent Jacques - Caught.

Wow, this is a biggy.

Vincent Jacques raised to 25,000 from the button and Stanislav Alekhin made it 62,000 from the big blind which Jacques called.

Both players checked the {7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop before Alekhin check-called 60,000 on the {Q-Hearts} turn. The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Alekhin check-called a huge 170,000 bet on the {10-Diamonds} river.

Jacques showed a complete bluff {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and had been caught by Alekhin's {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}. The Russian is a massive chip leader now.

Maxed Out

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

After an initial open to 13,500, Max Lykov three-bet to 28,000 only for the button to four-bet to 111,000. The initial raiser folded and Lykov tanked for a couple of minute before tapping the table and folding {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} face up. The button returned the favour, showing him {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}.

Kevin WIlliams Out

Kevin Williams open pushed all in from late position for about 85,000 and was called by a player in the big blind.

Williams: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
BB: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The flop came down {9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs} to give Williams no help, and the turn {q-Diamonds} locked up his fate and sent him to the rail.

Each elimination is becoming more and more important now that we have less than 100 players left. With the rest of this level and one more to play after that, we are predicting a Day 3 field of around 45 players.

LaGarde Brings Out The Big Guns

Matt LaGarde
Matt LaGarde

A player in the cutoff raised it up to 16,000 and Matt LaGarde from the big blind re-raised to 50,000. The cutoff called the bet and they saw a {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop. Legarde bet out for 180,000 and the cutoff folded to the big bet. LaGarde, who was one of our early chip leaders, is slowly building his stack back up here at the end of the day.
