Shchemelev Survives

Level 20

Stud

Phil Hellmuth completed with the {A-Hearts} showing, but after Owais Ahmed raised with the {10-Diamonds} and Vladimir Shchemelev reraised with the {K-Clubs}, Hellmuth stepped aside. Ahmed called Shchemelev's reraise. The pair would put in three bets apiece on fourth, then bet on fifth until Shchemelev was all in.

Ahmed ({10-Clubs})({8-Hearts}) / {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Shchemelev ({9-Spades})({10-Spades}) / {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Ahmed drew the {2-Spades} on sixth and {6-Diamonds} on seventh to finish with tens and eights. And Shchemelev picked up the {J-Clubs} and {K-Clubs} to end with a better two pair, kings and nines.

Shchemelev has 989,000 after surviving that one, while Ahmed has 1.91 million.

Benba Scoops Big One

Omaha-8

Josh Arieh limped in from under the gun, Ben "Benba" Lamb called on the button, Yan Chen completed from the small blind, and Scott Seiver checked his option in the big. The flop came down {2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, Chen checked, Seiver bet, and Arieh raised. Lamb called, Chen released, Seiver re-raised, and both Arieh and Lamb called.

The turn was the {6-Spades}, Seiver checked, Arieh bet, and Lamb raised. Seiver and Arieh called.

The river was the {5-Clubs}, and the action checked to Lamb who bet. Seiver and Arieh called, then both mucked when Lamb tabled {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for trip sixes and the nut-low.

One for Glantz

Level 20

Omaha-8

Matt Glantz limped under the gun, Brian Rast limped from the next seat, Minh Ly limped from the next seat after Rast, Ben Lamb raised from the cutoff and then action folded to Josh Arieh in the big blind. He called and then all the limpers called.

The flop came down {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and action checked to Lamb. He bet, Arieh folded, Glantz called, Rast folded and Ly called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} to pair the board and Glantz led with a bet. Ly folded and Lamb called.

After the {J-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Glantz bet and Lamb called.

Glantz showed the {J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} for a full house, threes full of jacks. Lamb mucked.

Arieh Crushed

Omaha-8

Josh Arieh raised from middle position and Minh Ly called from the small blind to see the flop come down {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Ly checked, Arieh bet and Ly called.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Ly check-called another bet from Arieh. The river was the {6-Hearts} and both players checked.

Ly tabled the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Spades} for eights and threes with a live four. Arieh held the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Spades} and had his low counterfeited on the river to get him scooped.

Arieh is now very, very short.
